Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Improved bounds on number fields of small degree
Improved bounds on number fields of small degree, Discrete Analysis 2024:19, 24 pp. Each number field $K$, or finite degree extension of $\mathbb Q$, has an associated rational integer, its discriminant $\mathrm{Disc}(K)$, which measures the size of ...

Pisot unit generators in number fields
Pisot numbers are real algebraic integers bigger than 1, whose other conjugates have all modulus smaller than 1. In this paper we deal with the algorithmic problem of finding the smallest Pisot unit generating a given number field.

Multiple ETS family transcription factors bind mutant p53 via distinct interaction regions
Mutant p53 gain‐of‐function is thought to be mediated by interaction with other transcription factors. We identify multiple ETS transcription factors that can bind mutant p53 and found that this interaction can be promoted by a PXXPP motif. ETS proteins that strongly bound mutant p53 were upregulated in ovarian cancer compared to ETS proteins that ...

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

A Construction of Rotated Lattices via Totally Real Subfields of the Cyclotomic Field Q(z_p)
The theory of lattices have shown to be useful in information theory and rotated lattices with high modulations diversity have been extensively studied as an alternative approach for transmission over a Rayleigh-fading channel, where the performance of ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

The condition number associated with ideal lattices from odd prime degree cyclic number fields
The condition number of a generator matrix of an ideal lattice derived from the ring of integers of an algebraic number field is an important quantity associated with the equivalence between two computational problems in lattice-based cryptography, the ...
