A kind of improved bivariate even order Bernoulli-type multiquadric quasi-interpolation operator and its application in two-dimensional coupled Burgers’ equations

open access: yesBoundary Value Problems
Multiquadric quasi-interpolation is an efficient high-dimensional approximation algorithm. It can directly obtain the approximation term and its derivatives without solving any large-scale linear equations.

A novel parameterized multiquadric quasi-interpolation operator with its optimal parameters

open access: yesResults in Applied Mathematics
The shape parameter c plays a crucial role in determining the accuracy and effectiveness of multiquadric quasi-interpolation algorithm. However, a few works discuss the shape parameter c in multiquadric quasi-interpolation operator.

Differentiation and Numerical Integral of the Cubic Spline Interpolation

open access: yesJournal of Computers, 2011
Based on analysis of cubic spline interpolation, the differentiation formulas of the cubic spline interpolation on the three boundary conditions are put up forward in this paper. At last, this calculation method is illustrated through an example. The numerical results show that the spline numerical differentiations are quite effective for estimating ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Insights into a long life without cancer: The case of the bowhead whale

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Long‐lived, large‐bodied organisms have evolved powerful anticancer mechanisms that preserve cellular and tissue integrity across extended lifespans. A recent study by Firsanov et al. shows that greater genome stability is a key factor underlying the remarkable longevity and cancer resistance of one such species, the bowhead whale.

The Effects of Offshore Wind Interpolation Methods on Wind Power Density and Energy Assessment

open access: yesEnergies
This work assesses the performance of different spatial interpolation methods (inverse distance weighting/IDW family, nearest neighbour, linear interpolation, natural neighbour, and spherical kriging) for the preliminary wind energy assessment and the ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Interpolation on the Bakhvalov mesh in the presence of an exponential boundary layer

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2019
Interpolation of the function of one variable with large gradients in the region of the exponential boundary layer was studied. The interpolated function corresponds to solution of a boundary value problem for an ordinary differential equation of the ...

Alcohol‐induced altered glycans in human tracheal epithelial cells promote bacterial adhesion

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Alcohol induces altered glycans to promote bacteria adhesion. Heavy alcohol drinking is known to increase the risk of bacterial pneumonia. However, the link between alcohol levels and risk of infection remains underexplored. Recently, we found that alcohol induced α2‐6sialo mucin O‐glycans in human tracheobronchial epithelial cells, which mediated the ...

Lebesgue functions and Lebesgue constants in polynomial interpolation

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2016
The Lebesgue constant is a valuable numerical instrument for linear interpolation because it provides a measure of how close the interpolant of a function is to the best polynomial approximant of the function.
