Could Edible Photonic Structures Be an Alternative to Traditional Food Coloring?
What if color in food came from photonic structures? This perspective introduces structural color as a potential next‐generation solution to replace conventional colorants in foods. It discusses edible photonic materials, their unique benefits, and the technological, safety, and consumer acceptance challenges that must be addressed to bring this ...

Versatile Gasochromic Hydrogen Detection via Supraparticle‐Based Applied Composite Materials
Silica‐platinum‐resazurin supraparticles are embedded into PMMA to form suprabeads and thin films. The thereby obtained indicators change color from purple to pink to colorless on hydrogen exposure. The indicator systems are tested under various environmental conditions, and their performance is related to their microscopically visualized structure ...

Ultrafast Nonlinear Dynamics of Indium Tin Oxide Nanocrystals Probed via Fieldoscopy
The ultrafast nonlinear dynamics of indium tin oxide nanocrystals excited with 1 MHz, 10 fs pulses, at their localized surface plasmon frequency, and near their epsilon‐near‐zero wavelength is probed via fieldoscopy. The study demonstrates fluence‐dependent switching behavior, advancing the understanding of high‐speed optical modulation in plasmonic ...

Stable aggregates of a new hydrogen‐bond mediated porphyrin‐perylenebisimide (PBI) bola‐type supra‐amphiphile have been synthesized by lyophilization of solutions of both single molecules in THF/water mixtures, followed by redispersion in pure water. Cryogenic transmission electron microscopy verifies the spherical morphology.

Lattice Dynamics of Rutile Germanium Dioxide (r‐GeO2)
The rutile polymorph of GeO2 is a promising ultra‐wide bandgap material, but key properties for its technological exploitation remain poorly understood. Using polarization angle‐resolved Raman spectroscopy, we resolve long‐standing uncertainties in the energies of Raman‐active phonons and extract relative Raman tensor elements.

Halogen substitution controls a conformational switch between a folded closed‐shell and a flat singlet‐diradical conformer in an air‐stable Thiele‐diradical. This conformational switch allows for near‐unity photoluminescence quantum yield with a large Stokes shift, solvatochromism, and a long‐lived excited state.
