Reading before buying - exploring consumer attitudes toward informative function of packaging [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Oftentimes, packaging is the first and only marketing tool consumers encounter before a purchase, therefore it is considered to be the most important communication and informative tool (Behaegel, 1991; Peters, 1994).

Poka: A Necro‐Robot Beetle with a Measured Payload Ratio of 6847%

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
Here, Poka, a necro‐robot beetle with the ability to carry more than 68 times its own weight, is introduced, making it also a walking robot with the highest payload ratio measured to date. This paper is concerned with the design, manufacture and validation of ‘Poka', a novel millimetre‐scale necro‐robot aimed at bridging the performance gap between ...

The impact of interpretive and reductive front-of-pack labels on food choice and willingness to pay

open access: yesInternational Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity, 2017
Background This study examined how front-of-pack labels and product healthfulness affect choice and willingness to pay across a range of foods. It was hypothesized that: (i) product choice and (ii) willingness to pay would be more aligned with product ...

On‐Chip Multiplexed Voltammetry Using a Universal Antifouling Hydrogel and Porous Gold Foam Interface for Stress and Inflammation Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
A multiplexed device is fabricated via silicon microelectronics and adapted for electrochemical sensing interface. Its 100 um gold disk electrodes are modified with porous gold foam and coated with a rapid, biocompatibleantifouling layer. Universal immunoglobulin G (IgG) capture is enabled through Protein A/G.

Microphysiological Systems in Cancer Research: Advancing Immunotherapy through Tumor Microenvironment‐Integrated Organ‐On‐Chip Models

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
Emerging microphysiological systems reproduce the spatial, biochemical, and cellular complexity of the tumor microenvironment, surpassing 2D cultures and murine models. By integrating patient‐derived tumors, perfusable vasculature, and immune trafficking, these organ‐on‐chip platforms reveal mechanisms of immune evasion, predict therapeutic responses ...

Cytokine mRNA Delivery and Local Immunomodulation in the Placenta Using Lipid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Therapeutics, EarlyView.
This article evaluates lipid nanoparticles to deliver immunomodulatory mRNA to placental cells and mouse placentas to study and treat the immune underpinnings of placenta‐related diseases. Lipid nanoparticles induce cytokine secretion and macrophage polarization toward an anti‐inflammatory state.
