Recent Developments in Alcoholic Beverage Labeling Regulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In light of the ubiquitous “Nutrition Facts” labels that appear on food products and non-alcoholic beverages, it is surprising to some people that there is not a standard label on alcoholic beverages containing information about alcohol and nutritional ...

Dynamic, Reconfigurable, and Hierarchical Biosynthetic Composites via Collagen Self‐Assembly within Highly Crowded Microgel Pastes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A new approach to extracellular matrix‐mimetic, hierarchical biomaterials is presented. Soft gels composed of overpacked hydrogel microparticle arrays present a biomolecularly crowded environment permissive to the self‐assembly of collagen networks.

The Uncontroversial Controversy in Compelled Commercial Disclosures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Federal and state administrative agencies increasingly advance public health goals through the use of mandatory disclosures, like warning labels on cigarettes, that are intended to both inform and influence consumer decisions.

Multi‐scale Engineered Vasculature and Hierarchical Porosity via Volumetric Bioprinting‐Guided Photopolymerization‐Induced Phase Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Vascularization in bioprinted hydrogels is limited by nanoscale porosity in hydrogel bionks. Volumetric bioprinting of gelatin–norbornene phase‐separating hydrogels permits to create centimeter‐scale constructs featuring interconnected multi‐scale porosity. Light dose gradients result in spatially controlled pore dimensions. Capillary‐scale vessels are

An Injection‐Molded Modified Silicone Rubber for Cancer‐on‐Chip Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 6, March 18, 2025.
This study describes the characterization and application of an injection‐molded functionalized PDMS fluidic insert for the commercially available Micronit system. Modified PDMS can accommodate cell culture and is able to covalently bind proteins for long‐lasting coatings under flow‐conditions.

Clustering Snack Products Based on Nutrition Facts Using SOM and K-Means for Diabetic Dietary Recommendation

open access: yesJurnal Sisfokom
The number of diabetics in Indonesia continues to rise, with Type II Diabetes Mellitus (DM) dominating 90% of cases. One of the main contributors is the excessive consumption of snack products high in Sugar, Salt, and Fat (SSF), which increases health ...

Two‐Photon Polymerized Microvascular Environments for Multicellular Modeling of the Blood–Brain Tumor Barrier

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Modeling the blood–brain tumor barrier is challenging due to complex interactions between brain microvasculature and glioma cells. We present two‐photon polymerized 3D micro‐porous capillary‐like structures that support endothelial alignment, cytoskeletal organization, and pericyte‐endothelial‐glioma tri‐cultures.
