On the methodology of feeding ecology in fish [PDF]
Feeding ecology explains predator’s preference to some preys over others in their habitat and their competitions thereof. The subject, as a functional and applied biology, is highly neglected, and in case of fish, a uniform and consistent ...

This work demonstrates the distinct roles of the glutamate formiminotransferase (GFT) enzyme in plants. The GFT triggers the conversion of 5‐methyl‐tetrahydrofolate to MeFox in plants, a process distinct from its role as a formiminotransferase in mammals.

Ma et al. report the hippocampal and hepatic acetylcholine (ACh) levels are differently modulated by regular versus irregular exercise, which contributes to coordinate hippocampal astrocyte activity and hepatic FBXL6high neutrophil recruitment. This ACh‐modulated brain‐liver circuit links the effects of exercise on fear memory extinction and liver ...

Top-down and bottom-up research in biodemography [PDF]
The most efficient way to make scientific progress in biodemography is to encourage bi-directional exchange between ‘top-down’ and ‘bottom-up’ research. This will entail exchange along the continuum of research from microscopic intracellular processes to

Re-examination of the Effects of Food Abundance on Jaw Plasticity in Purple Sea Urchins [PDF]
Morphological plasticity is a critical mechanism that animals use to cope with variations in resource availability. During periods of food scarcity, sea urchins demonstrate an increase in jaw length relative to test diameter.
