UiO‐66 metal–organic frameworks in biomedicine: From structural tunability to bioimaging, photodiagnostics, and photodynamic cancer therapy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
UiO‐66(Zr) metal–organic frameworks are chemically stable, biocompatible, and highly tunable nanomaterials. Their modular structure enables controlled drug delivery, multimodal bioimaging, and light‐activated photodynamic therapy, supporting integrated diagnostic and therapeutic (theranostic) applications in cancer and biomedical research.

Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

Nutritive value of perennial pastures along an elevation gradient in tropical conditions

open access: yesFrontiers in Sustainable Food Systems
IntroductionThe nutritive value of forages is one of the main drivers of productivity for livestock. In many tropical regions, same grass species occur at different elevations, but few studies have evaluated nutritive value changes within elevation ...

Effects of Grazing and Precipitation on Herbage Biomass, Herbage Nutritive Value, and Yak Performance in an Alpine Meadow on the Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
The Qinghai–Tibetan Plateau is a very large land unit and an important terrestrial ecosystem within the Eurasian continent. Because of the harsh climate associated with the high altitude, alpine meadows on the plateau are susceptible to degradation from ...

Re‐Awakening Public Attention to the Silent Pandemic of Cancer Among Older Adults in Low‐ and Middle‐Income Countries

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT As global populations age, cancer is increasingly becoming a leading cause of morbidity and mortality among older adults, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs). Despite accounting for the majority of new cancer cases and deaths, older individuals remain underrepresented in cancer research, clinical guidelines, and health ...

Estimation of genetic parameters and selection of Brachiaria humidicola progenies using a selection index

open access: yesCrop Breeding and Applied Biotechnology, 2012
The objectives of this study were to estimate genetic parameters for agronomic and nutritive value traits for leaves and stems of Brachiaria humidicola progenies and to compare the selection using an additive index considering the agronomic traits alone ...

The McCance Brain Care Score and Mortality: Evidence From a Large‐Scale Population‐Based Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives This study aimed to examine the relationship between the McCance Brain Care Score (BCS) and mortality in the general population. Methods We conducted a prospective, population‐based cohort study using data from the UK Biobank. Participants with complete data enabling calculation of BCS and full mortality information were included ...
