Microglia‐Targeted Biomimetic Tetrahedral Framework Nucleic Acid Nanovesicles for Synergistic Treatment of Sepsis‐Associated Encephalopathy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Sepsis‐associated encephalopathy (SAE) lacks effective therapies. We developed ME@FDsi, a biomimetic nanodrug using a tetrahedral framework nucleic acid to deliver disulfiram and siTNFα. It crosses the blood‐brain barrier, targets M1 microglia, inhibits pyroptosis and inflammation, and scavenges ROS.

Development of Textile Laminates for Improved Cut Resistance [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineered Fibers and Fabrics, 2010
Mechanical properties of fibres viz. tensile modulus, tenacity, elongation are the key performance indicators of cut resistance besides yarn and fabric structure. p-aramid and UHDPE (Ultra High Density Polyethylene) based high performance fibres are most

Introgressed Variation in TaMYB7‐A1 Drives Graded Dormancy and Climate‐Adaptive Pre‐Harvest Sprouting Resistance in Wheat

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TaMYB7‐A1 directly activates TaABI5 to enhance ABA signaling and regulate ABA‐GA homeostasis, enforcing seed dormancy. Its superior allele, derived from wild einkorn introgression, harbors a MITE insertion that elevates expression and two amino acid substitutions that enhance transcriptional activity, collectively generating graded PHS resistance for ...

Effect of substrate fabric characteristics on the peel strength of 3D-printed composite fabrics

open access: yesFashion and Textiles
This study aimed to analyze those factors affecting the adhesion between substrate fabrics and 3D printing filaments by evaluating the influence of fabric surface characteristics, fiber composition, yarn type, and the fabric’s structure.

Optimization of B Cell Responses in Human Immune System Mice Through Organoid Based Screening

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Human immune system (HIS) mice show limited B cell responses to immunization. Using HIS mouse spleen organoids, this study identifies cytokine combinations and innate immune signals that drive human B cell expansion, differentiation, and class‐switch. Applying these signals in vivo through temporal separation enables antigen‐specific IgG responses and ...

Synthesis of biscoumarin bifunctional reactive fluorescent whitening agents and their application on nylon-6 fabric [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
361-368Two new bifunctional reactive fluorescent whiting agents based on joining two coumarin moieties together through triazinyle-stilbene fluorescent moiety have been successfully synthesized, applied on nylon-6 fabrics and then characterized by NMR ...

Multimodal Imaging Reveals Rapid Catecholamine Uptake and Release by Neutrophils

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We show that immune cells (neutrophils) synthesize, uptake, and store catecholamine neurotransmitters such as dopamine or adrenaline. They also release them in response to specific stimuli (serotonin), which we directly visualize using fluorescent nanosensors. We further demonstrate that catecholamines affect neutrophil functions (NETosis) and platelet

ACLY‐Driven Metabolic Reprogramming Promotes Histone Acetylation and Inflammation‐Associated Fibrosis in Chronic Kidney Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals a citrate–ACLY–H3K27ac metabolic–epigenetic axis driving inflammatory gene activation and kidney fibrosis, highlighting ACLY inhibition as a potential therapeutic strategy for chronic kidney disease (CKD). ABSTRACT The mechanisms by which metabolic stress drives epigenetic dysregulation and fibrosis in chronic kidney disease (CKD ...

SEM image of Velcro (TM)

open access: yes, 2010
Velcro is a system of hard polymer hooks and soft nylon loops, both woven into backing fabric. Inspired by the natural seed propagation mechanism used by some plants in the form of 'burrs', Velcro was invented in Switzerland in 1948 by George de Mestral.
