OBO to OWL: a protégé OWL tab to read/save OBO ontologies [PDF]

open access: yesBioinformatics, 2007
AbstractThe Open Biomedical Ontologies (OBO) format from the GO consortium is a very successful format for biomedical ontologies, including the Gene Ontology. But it lacks formal computational definitions for its constructs and tools, like DL reasoners, to facilitate ontology development/maintenance.

Curvy Surface Reconstruction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 7, 3 February 2026.
This review introduces the concept of “general curvy surface reconstruction,” which incorporates both geometric and physical dimensions, representing an upgrade over conventional geometric reconstruction that focuses solely on spatial relationships. Particular emphasis is placed on the emerging opportunities enabled by advanced measurement techniques ...

Enrichment of OBO ontologies

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Informatics, 2007
This paper describes a frame-based integration of the three GO subontologies, the Chemical Entities of Biological Interest ontology, and the Cell Type Ontology in which relationships are modeled in a way that better captures the semantics between biological concepts represented by the terms, rather than between the terms themselves, than previous frame-

Agricultural Practices Used by Smallholder Farmers to Mitigate Greenhouse Gases and Enhance Carbon Sequestration in the Bosomtwe District, Ghana

open access: yesGeo: Geography and Environment, Volume 13, Issue 1, January‐June 2026.
Short Abstract This study explores how smallholder farmers in Bosomtwe District, Ghana, are adapting their agricultural practices to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and enhance carbon sequestration. Findings reveal rising temperatures and unchanged rainfall patterns, prompting farmers to adopt climate‐smart strategies like crop diversification ...

Adaptive Bitrate Streaming With Video Quality Enhancement

open access: yesIET Image Processing, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
We bring the new factor, DVQE sensitivity, into the bitrate selection for the QoE improvement of adaptive video streaming. We develop DSABR, which selects chunk bitrate with high DVQE sensitivity to improve video quality as well as reduce bandwidth usage, thereby achieving efficient performance in bandwidth‐constrained network environments.

The impact of uncertainty on fan interest surrounding multiple outcomes in open European football leagues

open access: yesEconomic Inquiry, Volume 64, Issue 1, Page 371-390, January 2026.
Abstract This paper uses searches via Google to evaluate the importance of uncertainty in driving demand for entertainment events. We consider various dimensions of uncertainty of outcome in European football to examine whether the removal of uncertainty surrounding the winner of a competition before its conclusion reduces interest.
