New Designs of Linear Observers and Observer-Based Controllers for Singularly Perturbed Linear Systems

IEEE Transactions on Automatic Control, 2018
This paper considers the design of observers for systems with slow and fast modes. The existing methods are able to design independent slow and fast observers with $O(\epsilon)$ accuracy only, where $\epsilon$ is a small positive singular perturbation ...

Adaptive observers for linear dynamic systems

Measurement Techniques, 2009
A synthesis method is given for an adaptive observer for a linear dynamic system with a variable gain in the adaptation loop. If the condition for bandwidth at the input to the system is not met, an adaptive observer is proposed with a multiplicative vector for the adjustable parameters.

Switch-observer for switched linear systems

2017 IEEE 56th Annual Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2017
To determine the switching signal and the state of a switched linear system, one usually requires mode observability. This requires that all individual modes are observable and that the modes are distinguishable. In theory, it allows to determine the active mode in an arbitrarily short time.

Fault diagnosis in linear systems via sliding mode observers

International Journal of Control, 2019
The problem of fault diagnosis in technical systems described by linear dynamic models is considered. The approach allowing increase robustness of the diagnostic process under disturbances is suggested.

Dynamic event-triggered distributed observer for linear systems

ISA Transactions, 2023
This paper investigates a dynamic event-triggered distributed observer for linear systems including two groups of local observers: one can access the local outputs and another cannot. By the detectability decomposition, the proposed observer contains a detectable sub-state (DSS) observer and a distributed undetectable sub-state (USS) observer.

Functional observers for linear descriptor systems

2009 17th Mediterranean Conference on Control and Automation, 2009
This paper is concerned with the design of functional observers for linear time-invariant descriptor systems. The order of these observers is equal to the dimension r of the functional to be estimated. Sufficient conditions for the existence and stability of these observers are given.

Observers for Lipschitz non-linear systems

International Journal of Control, 2002
In an interesting paper R. Rajamani and Y. M. Cho have proposed a systematic methodology to design observers. They have introduced a new problem: relation between distance to unobservability and convergence of 'Luenberger-like' observers. A result for the convergence of the observer has also been given.

Robust observer for uncertain linear systems

Proceedings of the 2001 American Control Conference. (Cat. No.01CH37148), 2001
A new technique for designing robust observers for perturbed linear systems is presented. The observer design uses intermediate inputs in a manner reminiscent of the virtual inputs of the backstepping technique. The resulting observer is robust since the estimated state converges to the actual state despite model uncertainties.
