GPCRs in CAR‐T Cell Immunotherapy: Expanding the Target Landscape and Enhancing Therapeutic Efficacy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Chimeric antigen receptor T cell therapy faces dual challenges of target scarcity and an immunosuppressive microenvironment in solid tumors. This review highlights how G protein‐coupled receptors can serve as both novel targets to expand the therapeutic scope and functional modules to enhance CAR‐T cell efficacy.

Health-related quality of life in patients with inoperable malignant bowel obstruction: secondary outcome from a double-blind, parallel, placebo-controlled randomised trial of octreotide

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2020
Background This analysis aims to evaluate health-related quality of life (HrQoL) (primary outcome for this analysis), nausea and vomiting, and pain in patients with inoperable malignant bowel obstruction (IMBO) due to cancer or its treatments randomised ...

Treatment options for PNET liver metastases. a systematic review [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (PNETs) are rare pancreatic neoplasms. About 40-80% of patients with PNET are metastatic at presentation, usually involving the liver (40-93%). Liver metastasis represents the most significant prognostic factor.

Piperazine‐Functionalized Nanoparticles Enable Oral Insulin Delivery in Obese Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Biologics have gained prominence as a rapidly advancing therapeutic modality for a diverse spectrum of medical conditions. Nonetheless, they are predominantly administered parenterally due to poor absorption through the gastrointestinal tract. Additionally, repeated injections of biologics such as insulin cause injection pain, leading to dose ...

Randomized controlled study of the effect of octreotide on pancreatic exocrine secretion and pancreatic fistula after pancreatoduodenectomy

open access: yesAsian Journal of Surgery, 2019
Summary: Background: Octreotide is known to decrease the rate of postoperative complication after pancreatic resection by diminishing exocrine function of the pancreas.

Diagnostic efficiency of 68Ga-DOTATATE PET/CT as compared to 99mTc-Octreotide SPECT/CT and conventional morphologic modalities in neuroendocrine tumors [PDF]

open access: yesAsia Oceania Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Biology, 2019
Objective(s): In view of somatostatin receptor (SSR) expression on cell membranes of the majority of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), functional imaging exploiting analogs of SSR alongside the anatomical imaging is the mainstay of this diagnostic modality ...

An expression signature of the angiogenic response in gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumours: correlation with tumour phenotype and survival outcomes. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
BACKGROUND: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (GEP-NETs) are heterogeneous with respect to biological behaviour and prognosis. As angiogenesis is a renowned pathogenic hallmark as well as a therapeutic target, we aimed to investigate the ...

Risk Factors for Small‐for‐Size Syndrome Grade B/C After Simultaneous Splenectomy in Adult Living‐Donor Liver Transplantation

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
In a single‐center cohort of 577 adult LDLT recipients who underwent simultaneous splenectomy, clinically significant SFSS grade B/C (ILTS‐iLDLT‐LTSI 2023) occurred in 18.2% and was associated with inferior graft survival. Multivariate analysis identified MELD ≥ 30, NLR ≥ 4.5, and donor age ≥ 50 years as independent risk factors, which risk rising ...
