Differential Enamel and Osteogenic Gene Expression Profiles in Odontogenic Tumors

Cells Tissues Organs, 2011
Odontogenic tumors occur within the jaw bones and may be derived from odontogenic epithelium or ectomesenchyme or contain active components of both tissue types. We investigated the gene expression profile of enamel matrix proteins (EMPs), genes related to osteogenesis, and the mineralization process in odontogenic tumor cell populations focusing on an

AFF4 enhances odontogenic differentiation of human dental pulp cells

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2020
AFF4 is a component of super elongation complex (SECs) and functions as a scaffold protein to bridge the transcription elongation factors. It is associated with leukemia, HIV transcription, and head neck cancer. However, its role in odontogenic differentiation of dental pulp cells (DPCs) is unclear.

Unusual peripheral odontogenic tumors in the differential diagnosis of gingival swellings

Journal of Clinical Periodontology, 1999
Abstract. Differential diagnosis of gingival mass lesions includes several conditions and causes. Peripheral odontogenic tumors may mimic gingival swellings and, although rare, must be included in the differential diagnosis. The purpose of this article is to describe 3 different cases of peripheral odontogenic tumors and to discuss the differential ...

JAB1 accelerates odontogenic differentiation of dental pulp stem cells

Journal of Molecular Histology, 2016
Jun activation domain-binding protein 1 (JAB1) is a multifunctional protein that participates in the control of cell proliferation and the stability of multiple proteins. JAB1 regulates several key proteins, and thereby produces varied effects on cell cycle progression, genome stability and cell survival.

Application of dynamic MRI to differentiating odontogenic myxomas from ameloblastomas

European Journal of Radiology, 2002
It is often difficult to radiographically distinguish odontogenic myxomas from ameloblastomas. In the present study, we tried to differentiate odontogenic myxomas from ameloblastomas using dynamic magnetic resonance imaging (dynamic MRI). Two cases of ameloblastoma with cystic components and two cases of odontogenic myxoma were compared by dynamic MRI.

Retrospective analysis of odontogenic myxoma and odontogenic myxofibroma in the oral and maxillofacial region: a fibrous tissue-related differentiation

British Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
The clinical differences between odontogenic myxoma (OM) and odontogenic myxofibroma (OMF), and the clinical significance of their classifications, remain unclear. This study reviewed the clinicopathological characteristics of patients with OM or OMF and evaluated the fibrous component of the specimens. Medical records of 21 patients with OM or OMF who

[Research progress on the role of exosomes in odontogenic differentiation].

Zhonghua kou qiang yi xue za zhi = Zhonghua kouqiang yixue zazhi = Chinese journal of stomatology
Exosomes, serving as nanoscale molecular signals for intercellular communication, possess the ability to induce odontogenic differentiation and to promote pulp regeneration. Research on their roles in cell differentiation induction has gradually emerged as a research hotspot in the field of regenerative oral medicine.
