High-Precision Tracking of Free-Space Optical Communication System on Mobile Platforms
We propose a new free-space optical (FSO) communication system for moving platform tracking, which can achieve high precision aiming and tracking. Our prototype system consists of three parts.

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Adaptive control of flexible systems
This thesis reports the successful application of the recently introduced Generalised Predictive Control self-tuner to the high-performance positioning of a real flexible single-link robot arm. The large amount of experimental time available on this high

Derivation and characterization of retinal pigment epithelium from urine‐derived iPSCs
Age‐related macular degeneration causes vision loss via RPE dysfunction and loss. Traditional iPSC therapies rely on invasive biopsies, limiting scalability. Here, we utilize urine‐derived stem cells as an accessible source to generate u‐iPSCs, successfully differentiated into pigmented RPE. This “Urine‐to‐Retina” platform provides a promising path for

qLPV predictive control : a benchmark study on state space vs input-output approach
This paper presents a comparison and evaluation of two approaches to Nonlinear Model Predictive Control (NMPC) via quasi-LPV modeling, by means of a benchmark problem: control of a 4 degree-of-freedom Control Moment Gyroscope (CMG).

A Tuning Procedure for ARX-based MPC [PDF]
We present an optimization based tuning procedure with certain robustness properties for an offset free Model Predictive Controller (MPC). The MPC is designed for univariate processes that can be represented by an ARX model.

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,
