The Iodized Oil (Lipiodol) Test for Fat Absorption

Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine, 1956
Introduction Following the use of the administration of iodized oils as a test for fat absorption, Silverman and Shirkey 1 introduced a simple modification in which a qualitative test for iodine was performed on varying dilutions of urine collected 12-18 hours following oral ingestion of iodized oil (Lipiodol).

Oil Absorption of Pigments

2012
MIXING A PIGMENT WITH LINSEED OIL AND MAK-ing a paste is a preliminary test applied to pigments that has been in use in a systematic manner for almost a century and perhaps even longer in a less defined manner. This proved to be a practical means to qualitatively characterize the approximate color and texture of pigments quickly with materials and ...

Oil Absorption of Pigments

1972
A common preliminary test applied to a pigment is mixing it into a paste with linseed oil. The test gives a rough idea of color and texture and, if done quantitatively, tells how much oil is needed to make a stiff paste. According to some authorities the oil absorption (OA) test predicts consistency of ready-mixed paint.

Absorption transport mechanism of puerarin oil-in-oil nanoemulsion

China Journal of Chinese Materia Medica, 2010
Objective To investigate the mechanisms of the oil-in-oil nanoemulsions transport through the gastrointestinal tract and the transport efficiency changed with its different particle size in the lymphatic channels. Method The behavior of nanoemulsions in vivo and their absorption via lymph after oral administration was investigated, with the ...

A characteristic property of whale oils concerning the absorption of gases III : On the absorption of oxygen by whale oils

広島大学水畜産学部紀要, 1959
1) Absorption of oxygen was studied with eight kinds of materials, i.e., distilled water, sperm oil, sperm whale body oil, blue whale oil, olive oil, camellia oil, castor oil and liquid paraffin. 2) Decrease in pressure, ΔP, caused by absorption was measured punctually with lapse of time at constant volume and constant temperature of 35 ± 0.05°C.
