Micellization in vegetable oils: A structural characterisation

Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2017
The solubilisation of polar and polyphenol antioxidant in vegetable oils was studied. It was shown that the use of a polyglyceryl-3-diisostearate (PG3DS), a bio-sourced emulsifier well known in cosmetics, increases the yield of solubilisation thanks to some aggregation properties analysed using x-ray scattering technique.

Industrial oil performance in terms of base oil chemical structure

Lubrication Science, 1990
AbstractSome performance properties for turbine, hydraulic and gear oils were correlated with changes in chemical structure for incorporated base oils. Blends with different viscosity grades were formulated from different neutral oils, brightstocks and additives.Different statistical approaches were used to evaluate the degree of fit for these ...

Electrical Prospecting for Oil Structure

AAPG Bulletin, 1930
Electrical prospecting methods were originally developed for the purpose of finding ore. Only recently have electrical methods been applied to oil prospecting. Some investigators assert that oil can be located directly as an insulator by electrical methods, but this is believed to be possible only under extremely favorable conditions, which occur in ...

Influence of oil nozzle structure parameters on oil injection direction

Industrial Lubrication and Tribology, 2019
Purpose The purpose of this paper is to provide an analytical method of jet flow injection direction and to determine the influence of oil nozzle structure parameters on oil injection direction, thus providing the design method of oil nozzle structure parameters. Design/methodology/approach A model of oil injection loss is established to analyze the

Natural Waxes as Oil Structurants

2015
Wax-based oleogels display very interesting and complex rheological behavior; the physical gels of liquid oils created using natural waxes can be assumed to have characteristics of both the flocculated suspensions and semi-dilute polymer solutions. In this chapter, a comparative evaluation of six different natural waxes (with differing melting ranges ...

US Structural Power and Oil: Debilitating the Iranian Oil Industry

The International Spectator
The concept of structural power pioneered by Susan Strange can shed light on the role of the United States (US) in the decline of the Iranian oil industry. Despite possessing the fourth-largest proven oil reserves in the world and historically having the second-largest oil production in the Middle East after Saudi Arabia, the Iranian oil industry has ...
