Integrative Metabolomic and Transcriptomic Profiling Reveals the Chemical and Molecular Basis for Aroma Divergence in Isatis Fruits

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 3, May 2026.
Integrative metabolomic and transcriptomic analyses revealed the chemical and molecular basis of aroma divergence in fruits of three Isatis species. Distinct volatile profiles and 44 key aroma‐active compounds defined species‐specific sensory characteristics, while co‐expression analysis identified NAC transcription factors and lipid‐derived pathway ...

Curcumin Nanoformulations for Dermatological Applications: From Nutraceuticals to Nanocarriers

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 3, May 2026.
Nanotechnology‐based delivery platforms enhance the cutaneous administration of curcumin. Loading free curcumin into polymeric micelles, metal‐based nanoparticles, nanogels/hydrogels, liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles, or nanoemulsions/nanocrystals helps address its low solubility, poor stability and limited skin permeation. As a result, these systems

Neuroprotective Effects of Time‐Restricted Feeding Combined With Different Protein Sources in MPTP‐Induced Parkinson's Disease Mice Model and Its Modulatory Impact on Gut Microbiota Metabolism

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 19, 2 April 2026.
Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) exerts protein‐dependent neuroprotective effects in an MPTP‐induced Parkinson's disease model. In casein‐fed mice, TRF improves gut barrier integrity and reduces neuroinflammation, possibly via modulation of Allobaculum and BCAAs.

Decomposing the great trade collapse : products, prices, and quantities in the 2008-2009 crisis [PDF]

open access: yes
The authors identifies a new set of stylized facts on the 2008-2009 trade collapse that they hope can be used to shed light on the importance of demand and supply-side factors in explaining the fall in trade.

Product Scope and Reactivity in Hydrothermal Conversion of Polyethylene With Solid Catalysts

open access: yesChemCatChem, Volume 18, Issue 7, 14 April 2026.
The addition of solid catalysts to the hydrothermal conversion of polyethylene increases the conversion and promotes the formation of naphtha‐like compounds when using CeO2, and aromatic compounds when using aluminosilicates. The reusability of these catalyst materials was demonstrated as they retained catalytic activity upon reuse.

Effect of NaOH Treatment and Solvent Extraction on the Chemical Composition and Morphology of False Banana (Ensete ventricosum) Fibers

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 4, April 2026.
This study investigates the effects of NaOH pretreatment (2%–8%) combined with Soxhlet benzene–ethanol (2:1 v/v) extraction on the chemical composition and surface morphology of these fibers. The results witness that controlled alkali and solvent treatments can significantly enhance the chemical composition and surface morphology of Ensete ventricosum ...
