Online Deep Metric Learning via Mutual Distillation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Deep metric learning aims to transform input data into an embedding space, where similar samples are close while dissimilar samples are far apart from each other. In practice, samples of new categories arrive incrementally, which requires the periodical augmentation of the learned model.

Genus Alternans in the Early History of Ibero‐Romance: Textual Evidence from Early Medieval Iberian Peninsula

Fault-Tolerant Detection Systems on the King's Grid [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
A detection system, modeled in a graph, uses "detectors" on a subset of vertices to uniquely identify an "intruder" at any vertex. We consider two types of detection systems: open-locating-dominating (OLD) sets and identifying codes (ICs). An OLD set gives each vertex a unique, non-empty open neighborhood of detectors, while an IC provides a unique ...

From old Globular Clusters to early Structures in the Universe: the Formation of old, metal-poor Halos around early-type Galaxies [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophys.Space Sci. 281 (2002) 487-491, 2001
Old, metal-poor globular clusters trace the formation and evolution of early-type galaxies. Their are the best probes, at low redshift, of the building-up of galaxy halos at high redshift. Their properties constrain the characteristics of their progenitors. Recent results suggest that DLAs at z>3 are the likely hosts for their formation.

The Sleep Condition Indicator and the Idiopathic Hypersomnia Severity Scale: Measurement Invariance and an Exploratory Network Approach in a French Sample of University Students

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Insomnia and hypersomnolence symptoms are prevalent among university students, yet their assessment methods face limitations, and the relationship between these symptoms remains underexplored.
