Diosgenin ameliorates silica‐induced tuberculosis in rats

open access: yesAnimal Models and Experimental Medicine, EarlyView.
Silicosis increases susceptibility to tuberculosis due to impaired macrophage function and oxidative stress. This study demonstrates that diosgenin, a steroidal saponin, significantly inhibits Mycobacterium smegmatis (IC₅₀ = 0.006 μg/mL), reduces lung fibrosis, and restores antioxidant enzyme levels (↑SOD, ↑CAT, ↓MDA) in silica‐exposed rats ...

Magnetic Multifunctional Nanoparticles for Effective Targeted Cancer Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
To overcome physiological barriers and achieve prolonged tumor retention, core–shell nanoparticles (Fe3O4@SiO2@Au, termed FSA‐NPs) with gold‐decorated surfaces are constructed. FSA‐NPs exhibit strong magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast and potent anticancer effects through the synergistic action of chemotherapy, magnetic targeting, and ...

Nanoparticles Functionalized with Polymer Brushes for Gene Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
The engineering of the next generation gene delivery vectors requires the precise control of the architecture and physicochemical interactions controlling the transport, targeting, uptake, and release of nucleic acid materials to targeted cells. Polymer brush‐functionalized nanomaterials offer unprecedented control over such design and properties, and ...
