Consumption and physico‐chemical characteristics of smoked and smoked‐dried fish commonly produced in South Benin and contribution to recommended nutrient intakes

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 8, Issue 9, Page 4822-4830, September 2020., 2020
Smoked and smoked‐dried fish are good sources of protein, lipid and semi‐essential fatty acids. The median consumption of smoked fish (60.2 g/day) and smoked‐dried fish (18.2 g/day) contributed for 72% and 112% respectively, to the adult daily requirement of sum of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) (250 mg/day).

Affinity purification of O-acetylserine(thiol)lyase from chlorella sorokinianaby recombinant proteins from Arabidopsis thaliana [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In the unicellular green alga Chlorella sorokiniana (211/8 k), the protein O-acetylserine(thiol)lyase (OASTL), representing the key-enzyme in the biosynthetic cysteine pathway, was isolated and purified to apparent homogeneity.

Effect of natural zeolite on biochemical and hematological parameters in blood, body mass and growth of calves [PDF]

open access: yesVeterinarski Glasnik, 2008
The work presents the results of investigations of the effect of natural zeolite (clinoptilolite type) on the degree of resumption of cloistral immunoglobulin, the value of hematological parameters and enzyme activity in blood serum (AST, ALT, and LDH ...

Circadian rhythms regulate the environmental responses of net CO2 exchange in bean and cotton canopies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Studies on the dependence of the rates of ecosystem gas exchange on environmental parameters often rely on the up-scaling of leaf-level response curves ('bottom-up' approach), and/or the down-scaling of ecosystem fluxes ('top-down' approach), where one ...

Advancements and Challenges in the Production of Biosurfactants: A Path Toward Sustainable Surfactant Alternatives

open access: yesChemBioEng Reviews, Volume 13, Issue 1, February 2026.
Microorganisms generate versatile biosurfactants with a wide range of uses. Although cost issues still exist, industrial interest is growing because to the advantages of sustainability, which are enhanced by genetic engineering; life cycle evaluation is crucial for scalable, environmentally responsible production.

Primary Auxin Response Genes GH3s and DAO1 Modulate Stamen Elongation in Arabidopsis thaliana and Solanum lycopersicum

open access: yesPhysiologia Plantarum, Volume 177, Issue 3, May/June 2025.
ABSTRACT Late stamen development is mainly regulated by auxin, which acts through the Auxin Response Factor 8 (ARF8) to promote stamen elongation in Arabidopsis thaliana. Auxin concentration in the stamens peaks at the beginning of late development and then declines, but the contribution of auxin inactivation to auxin homeostasis in stamen has never ...

Influence of the calcium concentration in the presence of organic phosphorus on the physicochemical compatibility and stability of all-in-one admixtures for neonatal use

open access: yesNutrition Journal, 2009
Background Preterm infants need high amounts of calcium and phosphorus for bone mineralization, which is difficult to obtain with parenteral feeding due to the low solubility of these salts. The objective of this study was to evaluate the physicochemical
