Identification of Oligomerizing Peptides [PDF]
The AraC DNA binding domain is inactive in a monomeric form but can activate transcription from the arabinose operon promoters upon its dimerization. We used this property to identify plasmids encoding peptide additions to the AraC DNA binding domain that could dimerize the domain.

Ionic epoxy networks are prepared using ammonium salts as hardeners, leading to a two‐stage curing process with a thermoplastic‐like intermediate. This uncommon behavior enables extrusion and fabrication of thermoplastic prepregs that can be cured into thermoset composites.

For highly pathogenic viruses, reporter assays that can be rapidly performed are critically needed to identify potentially functional mutations for further study under maximal containment (e.g., biosafety level 4 [BSL-4]).

Biophysical characterization of the outer membrane polysaccharide export protein and the polysaccharide co-polymerase protein from Xanthomonas campestris [PDF]
This study investigated the structural and biophysical characteristics of GumB and GumC, two Xanthomonas campestris membrane proteins that are involved in xanthan biosynthesis. Xanthan is an exopolysaccharide that is thought to be a virulence factor that

CypD Dependent mPTP Opening Is Crucial for Oxidized Mitochondrial DNA Release in Ferroptosis
Ferroptosis is driven by mitochondrial permeability transition pore (mPTP) opening, which induces mitochondrial swelling and releases oxidized mitochondrial DNA. The released mtDNA activates cGAS–STING signaling, promotes ferritinophagy, and amplifies ferroptotic cell death. Disruption of mtDNA repair sensitizes tumors to ferroptosis in vivo, revealing

The clathrin-binding domain of CALM-AF10 alters the phenotype of myeloid neoplasms in mice. [PDF]
The PICALM (CALM) gene, whose product is involved in clathrin-mediated endocytosis, has been identified in two recurring chromosomal translocations, involving either MLL or MLLT10 (AF10). We developed a mouse model of CALM-AF10(+) leukemia to examine the

RETREG1‐Mediated Reticulophagy is Essential for Dendritic Cell Maturation and Function in Sepsis
Reticulophagy regulator 1 (RETREG1) maintains dendritic cell (DC) maturation and function in early sepsis. Mechanistically, activating transcription factor 6 (ATF6) acts as a direct transcription factor regulating RETREG1 expression in response to sepsis‐induced endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress.

While certain inorganic main‐group polymers such as silicones (polysiloxanes) are ubiquitous in our everyday life, poly(iminoborane)s have been elusive for a long time.
