Proteomic Profiling of Myofiber Repair Annexins and Their Role in Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy

open access: yesPROTEOMICS, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Myofiber regeneration and membrane repair play crucial roles in maintaining the continuous physiological functioning of the neuromuscular system. A swift and efficient repair mechanism enables the rapid restoration of sarcolemmal integrity following cellular impairment in damaged skeletal muscles.

Uric Acid in Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease

open access: yesPortal Hypertension &Cirrhosis, EarlyView.
MASLD is the most prevalent chronic liver disease worldwide, yet effective pharmacological treatments remain limited. Hyperuricemia is now recognized as a key driver of hepatic steatosis, inflammation, and fibrosis, with elevated serum uric acid levels independently predicting hepatocellular carcinoma and liver‐related mortality.

Living Coordination (Co)Polymerization of Norbornene Derivatives by Using Nickel Catalysts Derived From Bis(1,5‐Cyclooctadiene)nickel(0) and 2,6‐Dihydroxybenzoic Acid

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
The living coordination polymerization of norbornene is achieved using a nickel catalyst derived from Ni(cod)2 and 2,6‐dihydroxybenzoic acid with trityl borate as cocatalyst to produce poly(norbornene) with controllable molecular weights and narrow polydispersity.

Performance of pyDock in 8th CAPRI: Energy‐Based Scoring Applied to Docking and AlphaFold Models

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The 8th CAPRI edition has shown a significant evolution in the field of protein–protein complex structure prediction. We have participated in all 11 targets proposed in this edition, involving domain‐domain, protein–protein, protein‐peptide, and protein‐DNA interactions, including homo‐ and hetero‐meric interfaces.

The Curious Case of CysE: Diversity and Distribution of Serine Acetyltransferases in Bacteria

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Serine acetyltransferase (CysE) is a member of the left‐handed β‐helix family of acetyltransferases that catalyze the rate limiting step in de novo cysteine biosynthesis. There are two isoforms of CysE that differ in length, with the shorter isoform lacking approximately 76 amino acids at the N‐terminus of the protein from the serine ...

AlphaFold2‐Guided Cyclic Peptide Stabilizer Design to Target Protein–Protein Interactions

open access: yesProteins: Structure, Function, and Bioinformatics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The control and modulation of protein–protein interactions (PPIs) is of central importance for the majority of biological processes and most biomedical applications. Stabilization of PPIs, besides inhibition, is of growing pharmaceutical interest.
