Advancements in Multiple Myeloma Research: High-Throughput Sequencing Technologies, Omics, and the Role of Artificial Intelligence

open access: yesBiology
Multiple myeloma is a complex and challenging type of blood cancer that affects plasma cells in the bone marrow. In recent years, the development of advanced research techniques, such as omics approaches—which involve studying large sets of biological ...

Tunable fractionation of nucleic acids

open access: yesBioTechniques, 2009
We developed a method for selective purification of DNA using the cationic detergent, cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), accompanied with urea and controlled high-salt (NaCl) concentration.

Multi‐omics and low‐input proteomics profiling reveals dynamic regulation driving pluripotency initiation in early mouse embryos

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Multi-omics integration reveals molecular networks and regulators of psoriasis. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
BackgroundPsoriasis is a complex multi-factorial disease, involving both genetic susceptibilities and environmental triggers. Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and epigenome-wide association studies (EWAS) have been carried out to identify genetic ...

The Aging Blood: Cellular Origins, Circulating Drivers, and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
As a conduit linking all organs, the blood system both reflects and actively drives systemic aging. This review highlights how circulating pro‐aging and antiaging factors and age‐associated hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction contribute to immunosenescence and multi‐organ decline, positioning the hematopoietic system as a target for aging intervention.

Genome sequencing of three bacteria associated to black band disease from a Colombian reef-building coral

open access: yesGenomics Data, 2017
We announce the draft genome sequence of three Gram-negative bacteria isolated from coral tissues affected with the black band disease (BBD), identified with the NCBI's Assembly Database accession numbers: MBQF, MAYB and MBQE.

The Personal Genome Project-UK, an open access resource of human multi-omics data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Integrative analysis of multi-omics data is a powerful approach for gaining functional insights into biological and medical processes. Conducting these multifaceted analyses on human samples is often complicated by the fact that the raw sequencing output

Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.
