A simple one-pot synthesis of methyltribromosilane has been developed. The straightforward reaction of a slight excess of silicon tetrabromide with one equivalent of powdered methyllithium in refluxing pentane produces methyltribromosilane in high yields.

A New One-Pot Synthesis of Alkynylphosphonates

A method for the palladium-catalyzed synthesis of alkynylphosphonates from 1,1-dibromo-1-alkenes has been developed. In general, the best catalyst system for this transformation was found to be Pd(OAc)(2), dppf, H-phosphonate, propylene oxide, DMF, 80 degrees C.

Stereoselective One-Pot Synthesis of Oxazolines

Treatment of alkenes with NBS, a nitrile, NaHCO3 and water in the presence of Cu(OTf)2 or Zn(OTf)2 is reported to furnish oxazolines in one pot and good yields. The reaction is equally applicable to chalcones.

One Pot Synthesis of Aryldiazepinothiophenones

Aryldiazepinothiophenones 2 were prepared from the reaction of o-phenylenediamines with acetone in the presence of 2-mercaptopropionic acid. Fused thiazolobenzodiazepines 3 along with fused thiazolobenzimidazoles 4 and 1,5-benzodiazepines 5 were obtained as by-products.

A “One-Pot” Synthesis of Blattellaquinone

An experimental protocol is described that allows preparation of blattellaquinone in higher yield and purity than those obtained by a procedure previously published. A variation on this protocol allows the target molecule to be prepared in a single lab session.

One‐Pot Synthesis of Spiropyrans

AbstractA highly efficient one‐pot synthetic strategy for the preparation of spiropyrans was developed. The method is free of special equipment and operations, and meanwhile, it is energy‐ and time‐saving compared to the reported three‐step procedures.
