This paper offers a first overview of onomatopoeias in Gizey, a languoid of the Masa branch of Chadic (Afroasiatic). Onomatopoeias are classified as a subset of ideophones, which include words, irrespective of word class (nouns, interjections, and adverbs), that depict sensory experiences.
