KnowWhereGraph is one of the largest fully publicly available geospatial knowledge graphs. It includes data from 30 layers on natural hazards (e.g., hurricanes, wildfires), climate variables (e.g., air temperature, precipitation), soil properties, crop and land-cover types, demographics, and human health, various place and region identifiers, among ...

Bridging Nature and Technology: A Perspective on Role of Machine Learning in Bioinspired Ceramics
Machine learning (ML) is revolutionizing the development of bioinspired ceramics. This article investigates how ML can be used to design new ceramic materials with exceptional performance, inspired by the structures found in nature. The research highlights how ML can predict material properties, optimize designs, and create advanced models to unlock a ...

Implicit and Explicit Examples of the Phenomenon of Deviant Encodings
The core of the problem discussed in this paper is the following: the Church-Turing Thesis states that Turing Machines formally explicate the intuitive concept of computability. The description of Turing Machines requires description of the notation used

Towards Ontology Mapping: DL View or Graph View?
Ontology is important in sharing and reusing knowledge. It also plays a crucial role in the development of Semantic Web. The paper discusses the DL(Description Logic) and graph view on ontology. Different perspectives have different models and approaches

Reachability Matrix Ontology: A Cybersecurity Ontology
In this paper, we describe the Reachability Matrix Ontology (RMO). RMO aims to describe the networks and the cybersecurity domain in order to compute the reachability information (reachability matrix). Reachability Matrix determines if a node can reach another node (via ISO/OSI layers protocol).

A Case‐Based Reasoning Approach to Model Manufacturing Constraints for Impact Extrusion
A hybrid modeling approach is presented that combines constraint‐based process modeling and case‐based reasoning. The model formalizes manufacturing constraints and integrates simulation data to model complex manufacturing processes. The approach supports manufacturability analysis during product design through an adaptive modeling environment.

The bilocated mind: New perspectives on self-localization and self-identification
Does the human mind allow for self-locating at more than one place at a time? Evidence from neurology, cognitive neuroscience, and experimental psychology suggests that mental bilocation is a complex, but genuine experience, occurring more frequently ...

Ontologies for the study of neurological disease [PDF]
We have begun work on two separate but related ontologies for the study of neurological diseases. The first, the Neurological Disease Ontology (ND), is intended to provide a set of controlled, logically connected classes to describe the range of ...
