Long-Range Repulsion Between Chromosomes in Mammalian Oocyte Spindles [PDF]
During eukaryotic cell division, a microtubule-based structure called the spindle exerts forces on chromosomes, thereby organizing and segregating them Extensive work demonstrates that the forces acting parallel to the spindle axis, including those responsible for separating sister chromatids, are generated by microtubule polymerization and ...

The Semaphorin 3E (Sema3E)‐Plexin‐D1 pathway mediated by C/EBPα and C/EBPβ downstream of the luteinizing hormone (LH) surge plays important roles in the mouse preovulatory ovary. Timely activation and suppression of this pathway during the preovulatory stage are crucial for ovulation, corpus luteum formation, and proper angiogenesis.

Evidence for a Functional Interaction between Integrins and G Protein-activated Inward Rectifier K+ Channels [PDF]
Heteromultimeric G protein-activated inward rectifier K+ (GIRK) channels, abundant in heart and brain, help to determine the cellular membrane potential as well as the frequency and duration of electrical impulses. The sequence arginine-glycine-aspartate

Etude de la fécondité du silure Africain Heterobranchus bidorsalis (Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire, 1840) en conditions d'élevage [PDF]
Artificial Reproduction and Fecundity of the African Catfish Heterobranchus bidorsalis (Geoffroy Saint- Hilaire, 1840). Through the artificial reproduction of Heterobranchus bidorsalis, fecundity of females, characteristics of oocytes and larvae after ...

Expression and regulation of estrogen receptor 2 and its coregulators in mouse granulosa cells
The cooperative effects of estrogen and oocyte-derived paracrine factors (ODPFs) play critical roles in the normal development of ovarian follicles; however, the mechanism underlying this cooperation has not been well studied.

Self-organized intracellular twisters [PDF]
Life in complex systems, such as cities and organisms, comes to a standstill when global coordination of mass, energy, and information flows is disrupted. Global coordination is no less important in single cells, especially in large oocytes and newly formed embryos, which commonly use fast fluid flows for dynamic reorganization of their cytoplasm. Here,

LRRC4 deficiency disrupts the metabolic homeostasis of mitochondrial aerobic respiration and glycolysis during GC differentiation by inhibiting the ubiquitination‐mediated degradation of YAP, which ultimately leads to POI. These findings reveal the novel molecular etiology of POI and provide a promising target for prevention and treatment.

Regulated mitochondrial DNA replication during oocyte maturation is essential for successful porcine embryonic development. [PDF]
Cellular ATP is mainly generated through mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, which is dependent on mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA). We have previously demonstrated the importance of oocyte mtDNA for porcine and human fertilization.

Atmospheric pollutants and their impact on murine and human reproduction
Atmospheric pollution is caused by the presence or combination of physical, chemical, or biological pollutants in the air. In recent years, the most studied pollutant is particulate matter (PM), a varied mixture of solid and liquid particles.
