Evaluation of modelling routines for on-line implementation of the open-ended coaxial probe
Measurement Science and Technology, 1998Three different models giving the relationship between the complex reflection coefficient and the complex permittivity have been evaluated for use with an open-ended coaxial probe in an on-line measurement system: Cole's bilinear model (model 1) and the more sophisticated models of Marsland and Evans (model 2) and Marcuvitz (model 3).

On the measurement of the complex permittivity of materials by an open-ended coaxial probe
IEEE Microwave and Guided Wave Letters, 1995A number of papers have appeared on the characterization of materials using a coaxial probe. In most cases, approximate admittance models have been used for this purpose. The present work compares two rigorous mathematical models for the aperture admittance.

Precision open-ended coaxial probe for dielectric spectroscopy of breast tissue
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium (IEEE Cat. No.02CH37313), 2003Research suggests that there exists a significant contrast between the dielectric properties of cancerous and normal breast tissue at microwave frequencies. Open-ended coaxial probes have been extensively used and analyzed in dielectric spectroscopy. There has been an extensive numerical and experimental analysis of these probes to ensure the highest ...

Analysis of an open-ended coaxial probe measurement system for magnetic materials
2011 International Conference on Electromagnetics in Advanced Applications, 2011This paper presents influence of parameters of an open-ended coaxial probe measurement system on magnetic materials. A detailed analysis is done for magnetic fluids and solid magnetic materials. Analysis is done by full-wave model of an open-ended coaxial probe measurement system.

Theoretical analysis of an open‐ended coaxial probe on a cylinder of finite thickness
Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 1994AbstractThe admittance of an open‐ended coaxial probe on a dielectric cylinder of finite thickness surrounded by a cylindrical outer layer of equal thickness but with a different dielectric constant is calculated analytically. The cylinder and the surrounding material are backed by a metal plate.

Complex waves excited by an open-ended coaxial probe in layered media
IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society International Symposium 1992 Digest, 1992Summary form only given. When an open-ended coaxial probe is placed against a material layer which is backed by air, surface wave modes can be excited in the layer. When the probe is placed against a material layer which is shorted by a metallic plate, radial guided waves can be excited in the layer.
