PHR J1724-3859: A Bipolar Planetary Nebula in Open Cluster Trumpler 25

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Planetary nebulae (PNs) studies are essential for understanding the late stellar evolution of low-to-intermediate mass stars. PNs in open clusters (OC) are rare but valuable since their study directly links their properties to those of their progenitors,

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Probing the Nature of Rotation in the Pleiades, Alpha Persei, and Hyades Clusters

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Unraveling the internal kinematics of open clusters is crucial for understanding their formation and evolution. However, there is a dearth of research on this topic, primarily due to the lack of high-quality kinematic data.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Quantifying the Limits of TESS Stellar Rotation Measurements with the K2-TESS Overlap

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) has provided stellar rotation periods across much of the sky through high-precision light curves, but the reliability and completeness of these measurements require careful evaluation.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Double Compact Binary Merger Rate Density in Open Star Clusters: Black Holes, Neutron Stars, and White Dwarfs

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Studying compact object binary mergers in star clusters is crucial for understanding stellar evolution and dynamical interactions in galaxies. Open clusters in particular are more abundant over cosmic time than globular clusters.

Coronal activity among open cluster stars

open access: yes, 1999
Focusing on ROSAT results for clusters in the $\sim 20-600$ Myr range, I first summarize our current understanding of the X-ray activity - rotation - age relationship. Then, the problem of the Hyades K and M dwarfs binaries is addressed: 1. most K and M-type binaries in wide systems are X-ray brighter than single stars; 2. binaries seem to fit into the

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Open Star Clusters and Their Asymmetrical Tidal Tails

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
Stars that evaporate from their star cluster by the energy equipartition process end up in either a leading or a trailing tidal tail. In Newtonian gravitation and for open star clusters in the solar vicinity, the tidal threshold, or práh, for escape is ...
