Dual-carrier Floquet circulator with time-modulated optical resonators

open access: yes, 2017
Spatio-temporal modulation has shown great promise as a strong time-reversal symmetry breaking mechanism that enables integrated nonreciprocal devices and topological materials at optical frequencies.

HiST: Histological Images Reconstruct Tumor Spatial Transcriptomics via MultiScale Fusion Deep Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
HiST, a multiscale deep learning framework, reconstructs spatially resolved gene expression profiles directly from histological images. It accurately identifies tumor regions, captures intratumoral heterogeneity, and predicts patient prognosis and immunotherapy response.

Demonstrating a Scenario-Based Safety Assurance Framework in Practice

open access: yesVehicles
Automated driving systems (ADSs) have the potential to make mobility services both safer and more accessible. The New Assessment/Test Method (NATM) from the UNECE establishes a multi-pillar framework for ADS safety assessment, centred on comprehensive ...

Ferromagnetic Interlayer Exchange Coupling in Magnetic Topological Insulator Sandwich Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A thin topological insulator (Bi2Te3) inserted between two single magnetic septuple layers of MnBi2Te4 is shown to convert the intrinsic antiferromagnetic interlayer coupling into robust ferromagnetism. As the Bi2Te3 spacer thickness increases from 1 to 4 quintuple layers, the weakening coercivity, Curie temperature, and interlayer coupling reveal ...

Behavior-Semantic Scenery Description (BSSD) of Road Networks for Automated Driving

open access: yesIEEE Access
The safety approval of Highly Automated Vehicles (HAV) still faces the automotive industry with economic and legal challenges. For verification and validation, it is essential to describe the intended behavior of an HAV in the development process in ...

Magnetic and Crystal Symmetry Control on Spin Hall Conductivity in Altermagnets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Crystal structures and schematic illustrations of the spin Hall effect (SHE) in altermagnets. High‐symmetry RuO2 exhibits conventional SHE, while tilted RuO2 shows trivial unconventional SHE (USHE) caused by structural tilting. CrSb and MnTe, with reduced magnetic symmetry, display intrinsic USHE arising from symmetry‐driven spin–momentum locking ...

Evaluation of Take-Over Request Lead Time Based on Driving Behavioral Interaction Between Autonomous Vehicles and Manual Vehicles

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Autonomous vehicles (AVs) at SAE Levels 3 require a take-over request to switch from autonomous to manual mode when leaving the operational design domain (ODD).

Non-null Infinitesimal Micro-steps: a Metric Temporal Logic Approach [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Many systems include components interacting with each other that evolve with possibly very different speeds. To deal with this situation many formal models adopt the abstraction of "zero-time transitions", which do not consume time.

Valley-Hall photonic topological insulators with dual-band kink states

open access: yes, 2018
Extensive researches have revealed that valley, a binary degree of freedom (DOF), can be an excellent candidate of information carrier. Recently, valley DOF has been introduced into photonic systems, and several valley-Hall photonic topological ...

Super‐Robust Telecommunications Enabled by Topological Half‐Supermodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Through topological half‐supermode engineering, we realize a valley‐ridge gap waveguide that is directly compatible with conventional waveguides and features topological protection. This design halves the lateral size via a PEC boundary, enabling direct TE₁₀‐mode matching and robust bend‐immune transmission.
