Increased OPG Expression and Impaired OPG/TRAIL Ratio in the Aorta of Diabetic Rats

open access: yesMedicinal Chemistry, 2007
Despite accumulating evidence showing that TNF-related apoptosis inducing ligand (TRAIL) plays a role in vascular biology and that its decoy receptor osteoprotegerin (OPG) is expressed in the vessel wall, modulation of these TNF and TNF-R family members in the early phases of diabetes mellitus has not been investigated.

A10.18 Correlation of RANKL, OPG and OPG antibodies in rheumatic diseases

Annals of the Rheumatic Diseases, 2016
Introduction Receptor Activator of NfκB-Ligand (RANKL) and Osteoprotegerin (OPG) play a key role in the pathogenesis of osteoporosis in rheumatic diseases. We have recently shown that autoantibodies against OPG (OPG ab) are detectable in patients with rheumatic diseases and are associated with increased bone resorption in RA and reduced bone mineral ...

The RANKL/RANK/OPG pathway

Current Osteoporosis Reports, 2007
Understanding of osteoclast formation and activation has advanced considerably since the discovery of the RANKL/RANK/OPG system in the mid 1990s. Osteoblasts and stromal stem cells express receptor activator of NF-jB ligand (RANKL), which binds to its receptor, RANK, on the surface of osteoclasts and their precursors. This regulates the differentiation

Action of RANKL and OPG for Osteoclastogenesis

Critical Reviews™ in Eukaryotic Gene Expression, 2009
Osteoclasts develop from hematopoietic cells of the monocyte-macrophage lineage. The coculture system of osteoblasts and hematopoietic cells was devised to examine osteoclastogenesis in vitro. Experiments using the coculture system have established the concept that osteoblasts are crucially involved in osteoclastogenesis.

Ocularpneumoplethysmography (OPG-Gee) and oculoplethysmography (OPG-Kartchner). Review and perspectives.

International angiology : a journal of the International Union of Angiology, 1986
A review is given of 95 publications on OPG-Gee and OPG-Kartchner in order to compare both techniques and to determine the present value and perspectives. Both techniques are valuable in the evaluation of the hemodynamic significance of carotid lesions, but OPG-G has a better sensitivity than OPG-K. Specificities are comparable.
