Stability of a hot two-temperature accretion disc with advection [PDF]
The effects of radial advection and thermal diffusion were considered in investigating the linear stability of an optically thin, two-temperature accretion disc. If the disc has only very little advection, we proved that the thermal instability exists when the disc is geometrically thin.

Imaging of optic disc drusen: A comparative study [PDF]
The choice of imaging technique to identify the presence of optic disc drusen has not been well established. We performed computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), fundus fluorescein angiography and B-mode ultrasonography (B-USG) on four patients with optic disc drusen as the sole identifiable pathological process.

Young Adults With Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy: A Multicenter Optic Disc Drusen Study. [PDF]
PURPOSE: Optic disc drusen (ODD), present in 2% of the general population, have occasionally been reported in patients with nonarteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NA-AION). The purpose of this study was to examine the prevalence of ODD in young

Multiclass segmentation as multitask learning for drusen segmentation in retinal optical coherence tomography [PDF]
Automated drusen segmentation in retinal optical coherence tomography (OCT) scans is relevant for understanding age-related macular degeneration (AMD) risk and progression. This task is usually performed by segmenting the top/bottom anatomical interfaces that define drusen, the outer boundary of the retinal pigment epithelium (OBRPE) and the Bruch's ...

Quantitative and Qualitative Evaluation of Explainable Deep Learning Methods for Ophthalmic Diagnosis [PDF]
Background: The lack of explanations for the decisions made by algorithms such as deep learning has hampered their acceptance by the clinical community despite highly accurate results on multiple problems. Recently, attribution methods have emerged for explaining deep learning models, and they have been tested on medical imaging problems.

On the reliability of protostellar disc mass measurements and the existence of fragmenting discs [PDF]
We couple non-magnetic, hydrodynamical simulations of collapsing protostellar cores with radiative transfer evolutionary models to generate synthetic observations. We then use these synthetic observations to investigate the extent to which a simple method for measuring protostellar disc masses used in the literature recovers the intrinsic masses of the

Optic Disc Drusen Presenting with Binasal Hemianopia
Optic disc drusen (ODD) are defined as a form of calcific degeneration of the optic nerve. Visual field defects are seen in nearly 90% of the cases. We report a 32-year-old woman who was referred to our clinic with the complaint of longstanding blurred ...
