Complex Non-Tumor Retinal Ganglion Cell-Glial Interrelationships in Neurofibromatosis-Optic Pathway Glioma (NF1-OPG) Mice

open access: yes, 2022
We report further details of a mouse model for neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) and optic pathway glioma (OPG) formation that exhibits developmental abnormalities of retinal electrophysiology distinguishable from OPG formation per se. Underlying mechanisms

Boron‐embedded multifunctional nanoplatform toward potential combined boron neutron capture therapy and immunomodulation in glioma

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
A brain‐targeting multifunctional nanoplatform (DM&Ce6@COF‐Ang) was engineered by employing boron‐enriched APTES‐COF‐1 as both the therapeutic boron agent and the nanocarrier co‐delivery of DMXAA and Ce6. This nanoplatform achieved synergistic tumor‐specific boron delivery, real‐time pharmacokinetic monitoring, and immunomodulation.

The hidden dangers: Delayed fatal apoplexy in adult-onset optic pathway glioma following biopsy

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Neurosurgery
Background: Optic pathway gliomas (OPG) are the most common primary neoplasm of the optic pathway. They are most commonly seen in children less than 8 years of age. Adult onsets OPG are rare entity. Hemorrhage (Apoplexy) in these tumors is rare and it is

Advances in deep‐tissue fluorescence imaging through optical clearing: A review

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Optical clearing refers to techniques that are used to improve the optical transparency of biological tissues. Optical clearing enables imaging of deeper lying tissues as well as 3D volumetric imaging of whole organs. This review examines reports on the integration of optical clearing with advanced fluorescence imaging techniques, with particular ...
