In-vacuum optical isolation changes by heating in a Faraday isolator
Applied Optics, 2008We describe a model evaluating changes in the optical isolation of a Faraday isolator when passing from air to vacuum in terms of different thermal effects in the crystal. The changes are particularly significant in the crystal thermal lensing (refraction index and thermal expansion) and in its Verdet constant and can be ascribed to the less efficient ...

A new method for measuring the isolation of optical isolator
2017 Opto-Electronics and Communications Conference (OECC) and Photonics Global Conference (PGC), 2017This paper presents a new method for measuring the min isolation of polarization-independent free-space isolators. The light source in the scheme of conventional isolation measurement has been improved in this method. This method is easy to operate, there is no need to comfirm that the light source and the optical path of isolator are coaxial strictly.

Isolated microspherophakia with optic disc colobomata
Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, 2003We describe a case of isolated bilateral microspherophakia with optic disc colobomata. A satisfactory outcome was achieved following uneventful lensectomy and scleral fixation of an intraocular lens.

Abstract This report describes the design and performance of a compact optical isolator for use in the visible region of the spectrum. The device is simple and cheap to manufacture, providing a figure of merit of 37.6 dB with a typical 1 dB insertion loss.

Design of a magneto-optic slab isolator for integrated optics
Optics Letters, 1987The problem of a nonreciprocal phase shifter comprising a magneto-optic slab is formulated using scaled parameters. Nonreciprocity is attributed to polarization effects in TM modes propagating in asymmetric waveguides under an applied external magnetic field. Simple design guidelines are presented for an isolator that uses these propagation effects.
