The mobile free-space optical channel mainly suffers from relatively long link outages, produced by short-term blockings of the line-of-sight (obstacles, clouds), pointing- and tracking-errors or deep signal-fades caused by index of refraction turbulence

Single Subcarrier Gold Sequences Modulated Timing Synchronization for Upstream OFDMA-PON
In this paper, we propose a timing synchronization scheme based on Gold sequences modulated on a single subcarrier for the orthogonal frequency-division multiple access passive optical network (OFDMA-PON).

ABSTRACT Background Children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) are at risk of severe outcomes from SARS‐CoV‐2 (SCV2). In the post‐pandemic context, where most children have been infected with SCV2, there are limited data on whether vaccination remains beneficial in children with ALL.

Design of Filterless Horseshoe Networks Optimized for Interoperable Coherent Pluggable Transceivers
The continuous growth of traffic in metro networks is increasing the need for cost-effective, scalable, and power-efficient optical solutions. Filterless optical networks (FONs) have emerged as a promising architecture for metro-aggregation and metro ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Measurement Based Reconfigurations in Optical Ring Metro Networks [PDF]
Single-hop wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) optical ring networks operating in packet mode are one of themost promising architectures for the design of innovative metropolitan network (metro) architectures. They permit a cost-effective design, with
