Generic Dijkstra for optical networks [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE\/OSA Journal of Optical Communications and Networking, 2018
We present the generic Dijkstra shortest-path algorithm: an efficient algorithm for finding a shortest path in an optical network, in both a wavelength-division multiplexed network and an elastic optical network (EON).

Overspill routing in optical networks: a true hybrid optical network design [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2006
To efficiently support the highly dynamic traffic patterns of the current Internet in large-scale switches, we propose a new hybrid optical network design: Overspill Routing In Optical Networks (ORION). By taking advantage of the reduced (electronic) processing requirements of all-optical wavelength switching, the electronic bottleneck is relieved.

Disruption of SETD3‐mediated histidine‐73 methylation by the BWCFF‐associated β‐actin G74S mutation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The β‐actin G74S mutation causes altered interaction of actin with SETD3, reducing histidine‐73 methylation efficiency and forming two distinct actin variants. The variable ratio of these variants across cell types and developmental stages contributes to tissue‐specific phenotypical changes. This imbalance may impair actin dynamics and mechanosensitive

Impact and Compensation of Electrical-to-Optical Frequency Response on Carrierless Phase Retrieval Receivers

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal
On carrierless phase retrieval (PR) receivers based on direct detection, bandwidth limitation of electrical-to-optical (E/O) conversion at the transmitter side (Tx) distorts the modulated optical signal.

Multidimensional OMICs reveal ARID1A orchestrated control of DNA damage, splicing, and cell cycle in normal‐like and malignant urothelial cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the frequently mutated chromatin remodeler ARID1A, a subunit of the SWI/SNF cBAF complex, results in less open chromatin, alternative splicing, and the failure to stop cells from progressing through the cell cycle after DNA damage in bladder (cancer) cells. Created in BioRender. Epigenetic regulators, such as the SWI/SNF complex, with important

Performance Evaluation of High-Speed Polar Coded CO-OFDM System with Nonlinear and Linear Impairments

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
In this paper, the performance of polar code in high-speed coherent optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (CO-OFDM) system with nonlinear and linear impairments is comprehensively investigated for the first time.

Escape from TGF‐β‐induced senescence promotes aggressive hallmarks in epithelial hepatocellular carcinoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Chronic TGF‐β exposure drives epithelial HCC cells from a senescent state to a TGF‐β resistant mesenchymal phenotype. This transition is characterized by the loss of Smad3‐mediated signaling, escape from senescence, enhanced invasiveness and metastatic potential, and upregulation of key resistance modulators such as MARK1 and GRM8, ultimately promoting

Targeting the AKT/mTOR pathway attenuates the metastatic potential of colorectal carcinoma circulating tumor cells in a murine xenotransplantation model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dual targeting of AKT and mTOR using MK2206 and RAD001 reduces tumor burden in an intracardiac colon cancer circulating tumor cell xenotransplantation model. Analysis of AKT isoform‐specific knockdowns in CTC‐MCC‐41 reveals differentially regulated proteins and phospho‐proteins by liquid chromatography coupled mass spectrometry. Circulating tumor cells
