Autofocusing and Self-Healing Optical Vortices Realized via Circular Cubic Phase Modulation
Optical vortices have drawn extensive research interests due to their widespread applications in various fields. Therefore, it is of great significance to modulate optical vortices to endow them with more properties.

Near-Field Evolution of Optical Vortices and Their Spatial Ordering behind a Fork-Shaped Grating
Fork-shaped gratings are periodic structures containing a spatial dislocation known to be used for the production of optical vortices in a far field.

Optical Vortices shape Optical Tornados
We demonstrate that by seeding an accelerating ring-Airy beam with a finite number of off-axis optical vortices, it transforms into a Tornado wave (ToW) upon propagation. Using numerical simulations, we show that both the spiraling high-intensity lobes and the optical vortices exhibit angular acceleration and follow interwinding braid-like trajectories.

Polarization and topological mode dispersion of optical vortices in circular optical fibers [PDF]
In this paper we investigated a problem of intermode dispersion within a group of optical vortices with an azimuthal number greater than or equal to 1 in circular optical fibers.

The Mechanism of the Formation of the Spin Hall Effect in a Sharp Focus
We have shown how the spin Hall effect is formed in a tight focus for two light fields with initial linear polarization. We have demonstrated that an even number of local subwavelength regions appear in which the sign of the longitudinal projection of ...

Laser Beam Positioning by Using a Broken-Down Optical Vortex Marker
We propose the use of high-order optical vortices as markers in the positioning of a laser beam. The broken optical vortices are arranged in constellations.

Optical vortices in antiguides [PDF]
We address the question of whether an optical vortex can be trapped in a dielectric structure with a core of a lower refractive index than the cladding--namely an antiguide. Extensive numerical simulations seem to indicate that this inverse trapping of a vortex is not possible, at least in straightforward implementations.

Optical spatiotemporal vortices
AbstractSpatiotemporal vortices of light, featuring transverse orbital angular momentum (OAM) and energy circulation in the spatiotemporal domain, have received increasing attention recently. The experimental realization of the controllable generation of spatiotemporal vortices triggers a series of research in this field. This review article covers the

Evolutions of optical vortices under wide Gaussian background
Analytically discussed is the evolution properties of optical vortices superimposed by Gaussian backgrounds. A kind of Tornado-like pattern is obtained after linear propagations, when the Gaussian background is wide enough compared with optical vortices.
