Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Shape factor analysis of water and aluminium oxide nanoparticles in a porous medium with slip effects

open access: yesChemical Physics Impact
This article explores the flow of a nanofluid over a flat plate subjected to a magnetic field. The chosen nanofluid comprises Al₂O₃ nanoparticles mixed in water as the base fluid. Various nanoparticle shapes are analyzed to inspect fluid flow and thermal

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Solutions of nonlinear real world problems by a new analytical technique

open access: yesHeliyon, 2018
Here a new analytical scheme is presented to solve nonlinear boundary value problems (BVPs) of higher order occurring in nonlinear phenomena. This method is called second alternative of Optimal Homotopy Asymptotic Method.

Enhancing the Accuracy of an Explicit Solar Cell I-V Model via Low-Complexity Search-Based Parameter Extraction

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
A new approach for extracting parameters of the recently introduced explicit two-piece quadratic model (ETPQM) for solar cell current-voltage (I-V) characteristics is proposed. It consists in introducing a new I-V point condition which enables expressing

A Unified Approach to the Global Exactness of Penalty and Augmented Lagrangian Functions I: Parametric Exactness

open access: yes, 2018
In this two-part study we develop a unified approach to the analysis of the global exactness of various penalty and augmented Lagrangian functions for finite-dimensional constrained optimization problems.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

The nonlinear thermomechanical vibration of a functionally graded beam on Winkler-Pasternak foundation

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
By using the Optimal Auxiliary Functions Method (OAFM), nonlinear free thermomechanical vibration of functionally graded beam (FGB) on Winkler-Pasternak elastic foundation is studied.
