Optimality Conditions for Parabolic Stochastic Optimal Control Problems with Boundary Controls

open access: yesApplied Mathematics & Optimization
The author studies the optimality conditions for a class of control problems driven by a cylindrical Wiener process, and expresses them by a stochastic maximum principle in differential form. The problem is to minimize the cost functional of the type \[ J(x,u)=\mathbb{E}\int_{0}^{T}f(t,x(t),u(t))dt+\mathbb{E}(h(x(T)), \] subject to the stochastic ...

Invisible but not inaccessible—Revealing transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins with solution NMR and complementary methods

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Transient oligomers formed by intrinsically disordered proteins may be ‘invisible’ to direct detection yet remain accessible to solution NMR through equilibrium‐exchange measurements and pressure‐jump experiments. Complementary methods report on mass, stoichiometry, selected distance distributions, morphology, and internal packing.

Optimal control problems for impulsive systems with integral boundary conditions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2013
In this article, the optimal control problem is considered when the state of the system is described by the impulsive differential equations with integral boundary conditions.

Membrane composition and thermodynamic identity as boundaries of life for synthetic cell research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
What makes a cell a cell? The boundary of a living cell is not just a wall. Read as a Markov blanket, the membrane separates internal from external states, generating identity and non‐equilibrium order. Can this identity be rebuilt from scratch in a synthetic cell?

On optimal control problem for the heat equation with integral boundary condition

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2016
In this paper we consider the optimal control problem for the heat equation with an integral boundary condition. Control functions are the free term and the coefficient of the equation of state and the free term of the integral boundary condition.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

A priori error estimates for optimal control problems with pointwise constraints on the gradient of the state [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We analyze a finite element approximation of an elliptic optimal control problem with pointwise bounds on the gradient of the state variable. We derive convergence rates if the control space is discretized implicitly by the state equation. In contrast to

Pontryagin’s Maximum Principle for the Optimal Control Problems with Multipoint Boundary Conditions

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2015
Optimal control problem with multipoint boundary conditions is considered. Sufficient conditions for the existence and uniqueness of the solution of boundary value problem for every fixed admissible control are obtained. First order increment formula for

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Equilibrium Points for Optimal Investment with Vintage Capital [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper concerns the study of equilibrium points, namely the stationary solutions to the closed loop equation, of an infinite dimensional and infinite horizon boundary control problem for linear partial differential equations. Sufficient conditions for
