Generalized splines in ℝn and optimal control

open access: yes, 2006
We give a new time-dependent definition of spline curves in ℝn, which extends a recent definition of vector-valued splines introduced by Rodrigues and Silva Leite for the time-independent case.

Optimal control of stochastic partial differential equations in Banach spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
In this thesis we study optimal control problems in Banach spaces for stochastic partial differential equations. We investigate two different approaches.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

A set oriented approach to global optimal control

open access: yes, 2002
We describe an algorithm for computing the value function for 'all source, single destination' discrete-time nonlinear optimal control problems together with approximations of associated globally optimal control strategies.

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

CONTROL "IN THE SMALL" - A NEW DIRECTION IN THE MATHEMATICAL THEORY OF OPTIMAL CONTROL

open access: yesНадежность и качество сложных систем
Background. This article is devoted to the historiography of a new direction in mathematical control theory - control "in the small," discovered and currently being developed by scientists at the Ryazan State Radio Engineering University named after V.F.

An optimal-control based integrated model of supply chain

open access: yes
Problems of supply chain scheduling are challenged by high complexity, combination of continuous and discrete processes, integrated production and transportation operations as well as dynamics and resulting requirements for adaptability and stability ...

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.
