A minmax problem for parabolic systems with competitive interactions

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 1999
In this paper we model the evolution and interaction between two competing populations as a system of parabolic partial differential equations. The interaction between the two populations is quantified by the presence of non-local terms in the system of ...

The Reproductive Value in Distributed Optimal Control Models [PDF]

open access: yes
We show that in a large class of distributed optimal control models (DOCM), where population is described by a McKendrick type equation with an endogenous number of newborns, the reproductive value of Fisher shows up as part of the shadow price of the ...

ZW4864‐mediated inhibition of the β‐catenin/BCL9/BCL9L complex reveals therapeutic potential in bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
BCL9 and BCL9L drive bladder cancer progression by enhancing β‐catenin signaling, promoting proliferation, migration, invasion, and organoid growth. Genetic depletion of BCL9(L) suppresses malignant phenotypes, while pharmacological disruption of the β‐catenin/BCL9(L) complex with ZW4864 inhibits canonical Wnt signaling and tumor‐associated cellular ...

Stochastic linear regulator problem in optimal control theory: Stochastic optimal linear regulator problem

open access: yes, 2012
Stochastic optimization problems are the study of dynamical systems subject to random perturbations which can be controlled in order to optimize some performance criterion.

The geometry of the solution set of nonlinear optimal control problems

open access: yes, 2005
In an optimal control problem one seeks a time-varying input to a dynamical systems in order to stabilize a given target trajectory, such that a particular cost function is minimized.

Establishing an assay to evaluate d‐amino acid oxidase enzyme kinetics and inhibition using WST‐8 redox dye

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated a novel WST‐8‐based assay for evaluating d‐Amino acid oxidase (DAO) inhibitors. We confirmed its effectiveness using known inhibitors and found that uremic toxins possess relatively weak inhibitory activity compared to existing drugs.

An efficient model‐free adaptive optimal control of continuous‐time nonlinear non‐zero‐sum games based on integral reinforcement learning with exploration

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications
To reduce the learning time and space occupation, this study presents a novel model‐free algorithm for obtaining the Nash equilibrium solution of continuous‐time nonlinear non‐zero‐sum games.

Optimal control of non-stationary differential linear repetitive processes

open access: yes, 2008
Differential repetitive processes are a distinct class of continuous discrete 2D linear systems of both systems theoretic and applications interest. The feature which makes them distinct from other classes of such systems is the fact that information ...

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.
