Optimal Kalman Filtering for a Class of State Delay Systems with Randomly Multiple Sensor Delays

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
The optimal Kalman filtering problem is investigated for a class of discrete state delay stochastic systems with randomly multiple sensor delays. The phenomenon of measurement delay occurs in a random way and the delay rate for each sensor is described ...

Space-Borne GNSS-R Ionospheric Delay Error Elimination by Optimal Spatial Filtering

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Global Navigation Satellite System Reflectometry (GNSS-R) technology is a new and promising remote sensing technology, especially satellite-based GNSS-R remote sensing, which has broad application prospects. In this work, the ionospheric impacts on space-

Optimal Filtering in the Salamander Retina [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
The dark-adapted visual system can count photons with a reliability limited by thermal noise in the rod photoreceptors - the processing circuitry between the rod cells and the brain is essentially noiseless and in fact may be close to optimal. Here we design an optimal signal processor which estimates the time-varying light intensity at the retina ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Improving the Responses of Several Accelerometers Used in a Car Under Performance Tests by Using Kalman Filtering

open access: yesSensors, 2001
In this paper a Kalman filter is used to cancel noise and interference contained in two accelerometers embedded in a car under performance tests. Here, the frequency bands of the signals of interest and their noise (deterministic as well as stochastic ...

Optimal Gaussian Filter for Effective Noise Filtering

open access: yesCoRR, 2014
In this paper we show that the knowledge of noise statistics contaminating a signal can be effectively used to choose an optimal Gaussian filter to eliminate noise. Very specifically, we show that the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) contaminating a signal can be filtered best by using a Gaussian filter of specific characteristics.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
