Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Discrete Nonuniform Systems and Sufficient Conditions of Optimality

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика", 2017
Nonuniform systems are the object of a deep investigation last 15–20 years. They are exemplified by the chemical processes, complicated operations in space, robot dynamics, development of organisms and biological populations.

Conserved structural motifs in PAS, LOV, and CRY proteins regulate circadian rhythms and are therapeutic targets

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cryptochrome and PAS/LOV proteins play intricate roles in circadian clocks where they act as both sensors and mediators of protein–protein interactions. Their ubiquitous presence in signaling networks has positioned them as targets for small‐molecule therapeutics. This review provides a structural introduction to these protein families.

Applications of Lyapunov Type Functions for Optimization Problems in Impulsive Control Systems

open access: yesИзвестия Иркутского государственного университета: Серия "Математика", 2015
This paper deals with an application of Lyapunov type functions for optimality conditions of impulsive processes. A impulsive optimal control problem with trajectories of bounded variation and impulsive controls (regular vector measures) is considered ...

Optimality conditions for pessimistic semivectorial bilevel programming problems

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, a class of pessimistic semivectorial bilevel programming problems is investigated. By using the scalarization method, we transform the pessimistic semivectorial bilevel programming problem into a scalar objective optimization problem with ...

On optimality in intergenerational risk sharing [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper defines and studies optimality in a dynamic stochastic economy with finitely lived agents, and investigates the optimality properties of an equilibrium with or without sequentially complete markets.
