Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

First-Order Conditions for C0,1 Constrained vector optimization [PDF]

open access: yes
For a Fritz John type vector optimization problem with C0,1 data we define different type of solutions, give their scalar characterizations applying the so called oriented distance, and give necessary and sufficient first order optimality conditions in ...

Object Agreement in Palauan: Specificity, Humanness, Economy, and Optimality [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
Complex conditions on object agreement and preposition insertion in Palauan, conditioned by aspect, specificity, number, and humanness, are shown to follow from a modified version of Diesing's Mapping Hypothesis interacting with (ranked with respect to ...

Optimality Conditions for Nondifferentiable Multiobjective Semi-Infinite Programming Problems

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2016
We have considered a multiobjective semi-infinite programming problem with a feasible set defined by inequality constraints. First we studied a Fritz-John type necessary condition. Then, we introduced two constraint qualifications and derive the weak and

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

The Deterministic Impulse Control Maximum Principle in Operations Research: Necessary and Sufficient Optimality Conditions (replaces CentER DP 2011-052) [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper considers a class of optimal control problems that allows jumps in the state variable. We present the necessary optimality conditions of the Impulse Control Maximum Principle based on the current value formulation.

Some optimality conditions in multiobjective programming [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
One of the aim of this paper is to introduce new classes of vector generalized concave functions and to point out their role in investigating local and global efficiency and in establishing sufficient optimality conditions for a vector optimization ...

Nonsmooth analysis and optimization on partially ordered vector spaces

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1992
Interval-Lipschitz mappings between topological vector spaces are defined and compared with other Lipschitz-type operators. A theory of generalized gradients is presented when both spaces are locally convex and the range space is an order complete vector

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Hodges-Lehmann Optimality for Testing Moment [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper studies the Hodges and Lehmann (1956) optimality of tests in a general setup. The tests are compared by the exponential rates of growth to one of the power functions evaluated at a fixed alternative while keeping the asymptotic sizes bounded ...
