Interval optimization‐based scheduling of interlinked power, gas, heat, and hydrogen systems
The combined heat and power (CHP) plant is one of the emerging technologies of gas‐fired units, which plays an important role in reducing environmental pollutants and delivering high energy efficiency.

Free Search Towards Multidimensional Optimisation Problems [PDF]
The article presents experimental results achieved from a novel heuristic algorithm for real-value search and optimisation called Free Search (FS). The aim is to clarify the abilities of this method to return optimal solutions from multidimensional ...

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Tactics for improving computational performance of criticality analysis in state estimation
Power system state estimation is a needful tool for providing reliable data on the system operating conditions. As such, state estimation requires adequate data redundancy levels, which can be expressed in terms of the degrees of criticalities associated

ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Convex model predictive control for collision avoidance
This manuscript proposes a model predictive control for collision avoidance for the regulation problem of deterministic linear systems, which provides a priori guarantees of strong system theoretic properties, such as positive invariance and asymptotic ...

Optimised surface-electrode ion-trap junctions for experiments with cold molecular ions
We discuss the design and optimisation of two types of junctions between surface-electrode radiofrequency ion-trap arrays that enable the integration of experiments with sympathetically cooled molecular ions on a monolithic chip device.

The task of providing optimal composite structures is increasingly difficult. New analysis approaches seek to model the material at the fibre/matrix scale and increasingly more control is sought over the material, for example optimising individual tows ...

Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...
