The neural crest‐associated gene ERRFI1 is involved in melanoma progression and resistance toward targeted therapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
ERRFI1, a neural crest (NC)‐associated gene, was upregulated in melanoma and negatively correlated with the expression of melanocytic differentiation markers and the susceptibility of melanoma cells toward BRAF inhibitors (BRAFi). Knocking down ERRFI1 significantly increased the sensitivity of melanoma cells to BRAFi.

Optimisation Technique For Perfect Pairing

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract Research focuses on the aspects of finding ideal pairs among ’n’ entities under specified constraints. The entities are assumed to be perfectly logical and possess quantifiable properties only. Each entity given a set of criteria is expected to rate itself to maximize its probability of being paired with another entity of desired ...

Fitness Landscape-Based Characterisation of Nature-Inspired Algorithms

open access: yes, 2013
A significant challenge in nature-inspired algorithmics is the identification of specific characteristics of problems that make them harder (or easier) to solve using specific methods.

AlN/GaN-based MOS-HEMT technology: processing and device results [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Process development of AlN/GaN MOS-HEMTs is presented, along with issues and problems concerning the fabrication processes. The developed technology uses thermally grown Al2O3 as a gate dielectric and surface

Liquid biopsy epigenetics: establishing a molecular profile based on cell‐free DNA

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) fragments in plasma from cancer patients carry epigenetic signatures reflecting their cells of origin. These epigenetic features include DNA methylation, nucleosome modifications, and variations in fragmentation. This review describes the biological properties of each feature and explores optimal strategies for harnessing cfDNA ...

Tactics for improving computational performance of criticality analysis in state estimation

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission & Distribution, 2021
Power system state estimation is a needful tool for providing reliable data on the system operating conditions. As such, state estimation requires adequate data redundancy levels, which can be expressed in terms of the degrees of criticalities associated

Class IIa HDACs forced degradation allows resensitization of oxaliplatin‐resistant FBXW7‐mutated colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
HDAC4 is degraded by the E3 ligase FBXW7. In colorectal cancer, FBXW7 mutations prevent HDAC4 degradation, leading to oxaliplatin resistance. Forced degradation of HDAC4 using a PROTAC compound restores drug sensitivity by resetting the super‐enhancer landscape, reprogramming the epigenetic state of FBXW7‐mutated cells to resemble oxaliplatin ...

Convex model predictive control for collision avoidance

open access: yesIET Control Theory & Applications, 2021
This manuscript proposes a model predictive control for collision avoidance for the regulation problem of deterministic linear systems, which provides a priori guarantees of strong system theoretic properties, such as positive invariance and asymptotic ...

In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...
