Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Raccoon Optimization Algorithm
Population-based meta-heuristic is a high-level method intended to provide sufficient solution for problems with incomplete information among a massive volume of solutions. However, it does not guarantee to attain global optimum in a reasonable time.

Single candidate optimizer: a novel optimization algorithm
Single-solution-based optimization algorithms have gained little to no attention by the research community, unlike population-based approaches. This paper proposes a novel optimization algorithm, called Single Candidate Optimizer (SCO), that relies only ...

ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Anti-coronavirus optimization algorithm
This paper introduces a new swarm intelligence strategy, anti-coronavirus optimization (ACVO) algorithm. This algorithm is a multi-agent strategy, in which each agent is a person that tries to stay healthy and slow down the spread of COVID-19 by observing the containment protocols.

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
