A Disaggregation Strategy for Nanopesticide Fabrication: Investigating the Impact of Nanosizing on Pesticide Biointeractions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
To explore the impact of nanosizing on pesticide biointeractions, a 7‐nm (average) emamectin benzoate nanopesticide without nanocarriers or surfactants is fabricated via HOAc‐mediated disaggregation. Nanosizing enhances bioactivity against Megalurothrips usitatus and Meloidogyne enterolobii and improves plant penetration.

Effect of probucol on the oral bioavailability of cyclosporine A

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2004
We have previously reported the reduction in oral bioavailability of cyclosporine A (CsA) by probucol, a lipid-lowering drug. To evaluate the mechanism, we examined the effect of probucol on the transport of CsA across Caco-2 cell monolayers, on the influence of CsA pharmacokinetics in rats, and on the change of ultraviolet-absorption spectrum of the ...

Lessons From Drug Discovery for Cryoprotective Agent Design: An AI‐Oriented Perspective

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cryoprotectant design is reframed through the lens of drug discovery as a multiparameter optimization problem. This perspective highlights how AI and systematic design strategies could enable safer, more effective cryoprotectants, while identifying key limitations that currently constrain predictive progress in cryobiology. ABSTRACT Cryopreservation is

Intrinsically Mitochondria‐Targeting Nanozyme via Coordination‐Assembly of Natural Quercetin for Cascade Antioxidant Therapy of Cerebral Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers that quercetin naturally targets mitochondria. By coordinating quercetin with Fe3+, we engineer an ultrasmall cascade nanozyme (MCN) with superoxide dismutase‐catalase activities. MCN crosses the damaged blood–brain barrier, scavenges mitochondrial ROS, prevents mitochondrial DNA leakage, and blocks the cGAS‐STING pathway, thereby ...

Comparing the pharmacokinetics of GS-441524 after intravenous and oral administration of remdesivir in New Zealand cats with feline infectious peritonitis

open access: yesJournal of Feline Medicine and Surgery
Objectives The aim of the study was to compare the pharmacokinetics of GS-441524 after intravenous (IV) and oral administration of compounded remdesivir (RDV) at 30 mg/kg, respectively, in cats with clinical feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) and to ...

Mechanical Activation of Piezo1 Drives Osteoarthritis Through Kdm5c‐Mediated Epigenetic Silencing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Excessive mechanical stress activates Piezo1, triggering Ca2+‐dependent cytoskeletal forces that deform the nucleus and reduce H3K4me3. Kdm5c demethylates H3K4me3 at Col2a1 and Runx3 promoters. Kdm5c knockout rescues degradation. Repurposed telmisartan directly inhibits Kdm5c, blocking this axis and showing disease‐modifying efficacy in mouse OA models

A Blood‐Derived Double‐Network Hydrogel with Robust Wet Adhesion for Keratinized Mucosa Regeneration via Neutrophil Phenotype Reprogramming and Mechanophysical Niche Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The iPRF‐MA/Alg‐NHS/Lut@EGCG (PGAE) double‐network hydrogel achieves durable wet adhesion in the oral environment. It simultaneously reprograms neutrophils from NETosis to phagocytosis for biofilm clearance, and activates the FAK‐RhoA‐YAP mechanotransduction pathway in gingival fibroblasts to drive extracellular matrix remodeling, thereby promoting ...
