Real‐Time Holographic Feedback via Mixed Reality Sensorized Laryngoscope Training System Enhances Pediatric Intubation Training

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
We proposed a Mixed Reality Sensorized Laryngoscope Training System to provide real‐time holographic torque feedback during pediatric endotracheal intubation simulation. Visualization formats are evaluated to reduce tracking error and visual demand.

Mono- and Bi-Phasic Cellulose Acetate Micro-Vectors for Anti-Inflammatory Drug Delivery

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2019
In recent years, different processing technologies have been engineered to fabricate capsules or particles with peculiar properties (e.g., swelling, pH-sensitive response) at the micro and sub-micrometric size scale, to be used as carriers for controlled

A Pentaradial and Bilateral Combined Photoreception System in the Sea Cucumber is Mediated by a Blue Light‐Sensitive R‐Opsin

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The sea cucumber Holothuria leucospilota detects blue and adjacent wavelengths of light via an r‐opsin with a maximum absorption at 459 nm. In the oral tentacles, papillae, and tube feet, distinct light‐sensing structures with specialized morphologies are formed, constituting a unique pentaradial and bilateral combined photoreception system.

Delivery of antifungal agents to the oral cavity

open access: yes, 1994
There is scant information in the literature on the local delivery of antifungal agents within the mouth. Research, therefore, is warranted to evaluate the optimal vehicle for the delivery of the agents to the oral mucosa.

BAP31 Drives Cartilage Calcification through Disruption of Autophagosome–Lysosome Fusion in Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mechanical stress activates BAP31 in chondrocytes. BAP31 competes with ATG14 for binding to STX17, disrupting the STX17–ATG14 complex required for autophagosome–lysosome fusion. The resultant autophagic flux blockade drives the generation of autophagy‐derived exosomes, which mediate pathological cartilage calcification in OA. Chondrocyte‐targeted BAP31

Engineering Immunoregenerative Therapy via an Immunomodulatory Binary Pharmacology Hydrogel Depot for Prolonged Allograft Survival

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An immunomodulatory hydrogel (iGEL) forms spontaneously upon subcutaneous injection, acting as a tissue‐adhesive depot. It releases anti‐rejection and regenerative agents in response to inflammation, suppressing T‐cell activity, promoting vascular repair, and restoring allograft function without systemic immunosuppression.

Anti-Angiogenic Effect of Orally Available Pemetrexed for Metronomic Chemotherapy

open access: yesPharmaceutics, 2019
Metronomic chemotherapy (MCT) is defined as the frequent administration of low-dose chemotherapeutics, without long drug-free periods, with the exertion of antitumor activity exclusively through anti-angiogenic mechanisms.

Engineering Approaches to Modify Immunomodulatory Functions of Mesenchymal Stromal Cells (MSCs): Tissue Regeneration and Clinical Application

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) show promise for treating immune‐related disorders through immunomodulation and tissue regeneration. This review gives a brief overview of current clinical approval of MSC therapies. It also discussed how bioengineering, including genetic modification, biomaterial delivery, extracellular vesicles, and iPSC‐derived MSCs,
