Scattering attenuation microscopy of oral epithelial dysplasia
We present a new method for quantitative visualization of premalignant oral epithelium called scattering attenuation microscopy (SAM). Using low-coherence interferometry, SAM projects measurements of epithelial optical attenuation onto an image of the tissue surface as a color map.

Expression of Ki-67 in Oral Lichen Planus: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis [PDF]
Statement of the Problem: One of the main signs of cancer development is increasing of cell proliferation activity. Expression of the Ki-67 as a cell proliferation marker is extensively utilized in pathology studies as an indicator of proliferation in ...

Can MMP-9 be a Prognosticator Marker for Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma? [PDF]
Introduction: Invasion and metastasis of malignant tumours severely endanger the life of cancer patients. Squamous cell carcinoma is one of the commonly found malignancies in the oral cavity and its survival rate has not improved from past few ...

Reproducibility of grading systems in oral epithelial dysplasia [PDF]
To assess inter and intra observer variability in grading oral epithelial dysplasia (OED) using Smith and Pindborg grading system, WHO classification system and Brothwell DJ et al. classification system. In the study 45 histological tissues of dysplasia, 15 each of mild, moderate and severe dysplasia were coded and blindly graded by three observers in ...

Association of Syndecan-1 immunoexpression with epithelial dysplasia in oral verrucous carcinoma
Background: Oral verrucous carcinoma (OVC) is an uncommon variant of well-differentiated squamous cell carcinoma with an excellent prognosis. Epithelial dysplasia in OVC is a sign of a poorer prognosis.

LGR5 expression in oral epithelial dysplasia and oral squamous cell carcinoma [PDF]
LGR5 is pivotal to oral cavity development and is implicated in epithelial malignancy whereby stimulation of LGR5 potentiates canonical Wnt signaling. This investigation tested our hypothesis of a correlation between LGR5 expression and the severity of oral epithelial dysplasia (OED) and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC).Immunoreactive LGR5 protein ...

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.
