A Pressure Microsensor Made of Parylene‐C for Use as Medical Implant

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A monolithic parylene‐C pressure sensor with gold strain gauges provides 6.2 μV$\mu{\rm V}$·mmHg$\cdot{\rm mmHg}$−1$^{-1}$ sensitivity. The morphology of a sputtered thin film strain sensor is granular/columnar, which results in a high gauge factor of 7.5. Thermal bonding and parylene‐C coating create a hermetic cavity.

eQTL Meta‐Analysis Reveals Conserved and Population‐Specific Regulatory Variation Underlying Nutritional Trait Evolution and Domestication in Tomato

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A comprehensive meta‐analysis of expression quantitative trait loci (eQTLs) across five diverse tomato populations reveals a high‐resolution atlas of transcriptional regulation and uncovers conserved and population‐specific regulatory architectures underlying fruit nutritional quality traits, including flavonoids, sugars, organic acids, carotenoids ...

ORANGE PEEL LIQUEFACTION MONITORED BY FTIR [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The aim of this work was to test polyalcohol liquefaction for processing orange peel into value added products such as adhesives, foams, chemicals or even as liquid fuel. Dry orange peel was liquefied using a mixture of ethyleneglycol and glycerol (50/50)

Polyurethane foams from liquefied orange peel wastes

open access: yes, 2019
Waste conversion into value added materials is a growing subject due to environmental concerns. In the production of orange juice high amounts of orange peel waste are generated and although they are used for the extraction of some extractable compounds ...

Atomic Tuning of Metal‐Support Interactions for Pathway‐Selective CO2 Photoreduction on TiO2

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Single‐atom Fe and Cu catalysts anchored on TiO2 steer photocatalytic CO2 reduction toward distinct pathways. Fe sites favor rapid *CO desorption and selective CO formation, whereas Cu sites stabilize *CHO intermediates, enabling deep reduction and C─C coupling. Combined spectroscopy and DFT calculations reveal how metal–support interactions and oxygen

Adsorption of toxic metals from landfill leachate using orange and banana peel powders as adsorbents

open access: yesSustainable Environment
Agricultural wastes are sustainable adsorbents to clean up toxic metals contaminated in water and wastewater. Understanding water chemistry is critical in innovating and finding processes that limit the removal of toxic metals.

Stress History Establishes a Transient Tolerant State That Shapes Antibiotic Survival Upon Resuscitation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High‐throughput single‐cell analysis of resuscitating bacteria reveals a starvation‐history‐dependent transiently tolerant subpopulation that survives β$\beta$‐lactam exposure by temporarily reducing growth. Distinct from classical persisters, these actively growing yet dynamically modulated cells dominate survival across clinically relevant antibiotic

Investigation of kinetic, isotherm and adsorption efficacy of thorium by orange peel immobilized on calcium alginate

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
In this research work the thorium uptake on immobilized protonated orange peel was studied in a batch system. The effects of effective parameters such as biosorbent dosage, initial metal ion concentration, and contact time on the biosorption of thorium ...
